He's definitely in fade, hopefully the contract isn't as rich as we're guessing and around 75k max. I'm going to be very surprised if we get two years out of him

BTW a free transfer fee and 100-120k per month, is still a 25M investment over the contract. Stach is on 50K, and we paid 17M so he'll only cost 2 mill more than DCL and Wilson if he has a DCL type contract..

Interesting that Longstaff was our biggest investment last season, there are parallels with Wilson here. Longstaff was considered an excellent get by most here at the time.

120 makes sense as that's DCL's salary.

120x52x4 is 25M... so, yes free, but at the same time one of the most expensive players at the club.. Nothing can be finalised till the 1st so Villa can still put their oar in. LUFC official are not reporting it and it's not "done" till they do

People like Henry Winter and Paul Joyce work for The Times and David Ornstein follows the guy who wrote that article.

In football journalism terms a follow from Ornstein is a guarantee of reliability.

Can't imagine an outlet such as The Times engaging in click bait.

£120k sounds excessive but also sounds like something a players whose had both Everton and Villa turn down his demands may ask for.

Think a relegation clause, insofar as it's a salary cut of around 50% for relegation, is fairly probably standard. I'd imagine Wilson will have wanted a get out clause. But he's getting on so suitors a year later might be harder to find..
