Problem is if you're giving Wilson £100k a week, other players will want the same. How much do you think Struijk's agent is asking for?

Players will want more and if they have played well then they will likely get better contracts. People saying about Gruev being on #15k per week but he signed when we were in the championship, likely if he signed a new deal he'd ask for more, proves himself as a premier league player and he will get more. The wage bill will keep going up and there are ways around it- we could give HW a big signing on fee and then lower the wages (so he still gets the same amount overall but his actual wages are in line with others at the club). Or the contract can be incentivised but with realistic targets.

Up to Farke to keep the harmony in the dressing room but he seems to have been able to do that. Likely that Rutter, Aaronsen, Wober, Harrison etc were on bigger wages than Rodon or Ampadu but Farke seemed to keep everyong happy.

I feel the same way about signing players 29/30+ as I do about signing players on a straight loan with no buy option.

They need to be absolutely exceptional.

And maybe Wilson could be, he had a great season last season. As said before he's different to others we have it's a different weapon which is useful.

But it is just that one exceptional season at 29. Not to say it can't be a catalyst, it happens, Antonio Di Natale was 30+ when he went from decent player to one of the most lethal strikers in Europe for a number of seasons into his late 30s.

Strachan was different, the guy was 4th in the B'allon d'Or in 1983, his pedigree was vast.

Brandt would be the same imo, his career is of the level you would happily pay £100k a week plus and a massive signing on fee because he's been an exceptional performer for years.

That to me is the exception, I don't feel Wilson is atm.

Dad was born in India so didn't really have a football team, he only took me to Aldershot, and Raith when we lived there, out of a sense of duty.

Uncle was West Ham, though Fulham wanted him to replace Johnny Haynes, he's the one who had the football knowledge and taught me how to understand the game, what to look for, how to coach, how to scout. We were the only two real fans of football in the family (until my nephew was born) So he took me to games my dad (who couldn't drive,) wouldn't.

Great news!

We got in early and got the deal done.

Hopefully Wilson can replicate his form of last season.

His overall stats for Fulham are very good = 187 appearances and 82 goals/assists.

With a bit of luck Dan James and Brenden Aaronson, and a few others will be heading through the exit door.

Good start to the window, and hopefully the best is yet to come.

10 months older than Harry Wilson Leon.

I think this is less of an issue these days as players have longevity by taking care of themselves.

Also, worth noting that both have the technical ability to let the ball do the work, rather than being solely reliant on running around and kicking people, we've got enough of those in our midfield squad.

We desperately need players who can sprinkle a bit of magic, like Pablo did.
