Your rose tinted glasses have got all steamed up Kenny.
We conceded 20 goals in Bielsa's last 6 games in charge and only 5 scored.
We were heading back to the Championship with those figures and you can say what you want about how good his first three seasons were, they were but the team had completely lost the plot by the time he was sacked.
It was sad when he went but inevitable I'm afraid.

Utter rubbish, no we don't at all, we've still got a lot of Bert players, but forget that, any manager worth his salt should be able to get 11 players out of 28 players playing the way he wants them to play, or near enough damn it until he can add some of his own preferred players, admittedly it might take a bit, but big Sams done it enough, along with a good few others.
And ffs don't ask for this dick style again, i don't want us to find anyone that tries to use his dick again.
We don't need to find a manager that can make Marsch style work, coz NEWSFLASH! it doesn't work in the Prem.
Big Sam style is long ball hoof merchant, you want pretty football then that takes time (why you think Bielsa never takes a job mid season).
It doesn't have to be penisball
Go look at the link I posted for Adi Hutter.
Said it before but the Red Bull style is heavily influenced by Ralf Rangnick who in turn is a Bielsa like figure to people like Klopp and Tuchel and Nagelsmann and basically any successful German coach of the last 20 years.
The style works if you have 1 the right players and 2 use your own knowledge to adapt it (as Klopp did).
As I say,go read Hutter and note that lovely word WIDTH

I don't know, Kenny, I suspect Bert's ruined football for me tbh. I'd just like to watch something I can halfway believe in again. Not too much to ask, is it?
I wanted to watch every match when Bielsa was in charge even when we were doing badly. Now it seems more like a chore having to endure a match.

I saw Weasel's analysis on that. And he has it spot on in my view. I had been trying to work it out in my head and overlooked the simple part. In leagues where this system works it's because virtually EVERY team tries to play football from the back. Germany is an excellent example of that. So is MLS here in my country.
Palace and Southampton showed how easy it was to transform a game against us simply by ditching the way they were playing - in both those games we went from looking dnagerous and being in front to looking useless and conceding 2 goals. Arsenal and Chelsea are so set in the play it out from the back style and by continuing to try playing from the back and forced their own problems. If you watch back through both those matches we don't actually create much ourselves we just steal the ball a few times in dangerous areas.

Trying to change a style to much mid season is a massive risk.
Hence why a lot of managers won't take over mid season.
We need to find a manager who can make Marsch style work or have tweaked it to make it work.
Those Managers do exist, Red Bull has plenty of past employees whove done ok.
We don't. We need to find a manager that can play a way that suits these players and get results. Our best performance under Jesse was his first match in charge when we lost 1-0 to Leicester but created lots of chances and ran them ragged. We played the way most of the players had learnt how to play.

He looked lost towards the end of the game did Jess. Not a good look when i start to feel sorry for him. He needs a spark to light the bonfire or he will follow Guy Faulks on it. We don't have anyone like Raph who could pull a rabbit out. Its all too mechanical with not enough gears.
We have a fella called Sinistera who can do that but he got taken off.....
We also have aplayer called Gelhardt who can do that but I suspect his confidence is at an all time low now.

The Red Bull style works well in a league where you are comfortably the best team and have the best players where the manager is fairly much an irrelevance because they all simply follow the red bull way of playing.

Absolute madness if he was then deemed fit enough to start the second half. The logic would have been to start him, ask him at half time how he is feeling and then take it from there. It was just complete lunacy to drop him if he was deemed fit to play a full half. You can't even judge pre-match how physical the match might be, he might have had one of those games where you don't have to actually do loads of running (i.e. we keep possesion well, keep our shape etc).
I understand his selection up front. We weren’t pulling up any trees and we all wanted Bamford in but no idea and never will have why he tinkered with the defence before & during. He’ll get it right for Fulham, I have no doubt we’ll beat them at home. Now where’s my crack pipe
I declare my love for Saint Daniel and I can shoehorn him in to any conversation.

Still early days on Sini but he's the nearest to Raph. He's no Hernandez. And Joffy looks lost like he's been disowned. With a good run of games i think Jimmy may come good.

And THIS is the big question. I was going to start a new thread but we can just add it to the discussion here. WHAT system fits the players we have and can get results????

Stupid to remove Koch if the only reason was because he was on a yellow. Yes sometimes managers take off a player who they think is one bad tackle away from a sending off but that is usually when a player has been lucky to still beon the pitch (i.e. some refs would have already sent him off).
Llorente had actually began to look a bit better after a few games on the season as he was getting used to the left - Marsch then played him on the right v Barnsley in the cup which I highlighted at the time as a stupid decision as it completely disrupted Llorente getting used to the left side. I played both left and right of centre but it does throw you when you move after playing on one side for a few matches.
I see Jesse's logic in taking Koch off. He admitted at half time that Cooper needed to be there. He's the only one that can manage the defence. Koch's been our best defender but Llorente was having a decent game too. WIth the Koch error and yellow, and Llorente not having played much lately, it made sense to give Llorente the 2nd half. Plus Llorente is probably more likely to get you a goal from a corner

Absolute madness given that Strujik was out too, Too many changes. I get the 3 in 8 argument. But we needed a win. Play the game in front of you then worry about resting someone in the next game - if necessary. Hearing that Strujik should be back for Fulham. Should have played Cooper from start. Even if we did push him through all 3, we're almost at the world cup break anyway.

Good Morning MOT friends! I'm just waking up and having a coffee here in the Beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota USA. It's going to be sunny and 71 degrees f today. And it seems like a good opportunity to get on my Harley and go for a ride up the canyon. See some fall colors and visit the resident Mountain Goats at Bridal Vail Falls. Then maybe head to Deadwood for lunch. It's better than being pissed off all day. Which seems to be my other alternative....LOL
I half expected to be waking up to the news that Jesse Marsch had been fired. It seems that hasn't happened yet. Anyway, I'm still pissed off about yesterday's match. It was a wholly pathetic performance by most involved. But my particular ire is reserved for the Manager. I don't like the way he set up the team with two changes in the back. I didn't like that he disrupted the attacking flow by bringing in Summerville for Harrison. And as the game went on I became more and more frustrated by the complete lack of tactical flexibility. To finish it off the substitutions were completely incoherent. All of that is on the Manager.
I started to read your first paragraph and expected to hear, "Jesse is sitting next to me"

That's my view too. Respect that a manager wants to bring in his own style. But that style has to be flexible. You have to make use of what you have and compensate for what you don't have. Every system needs a little flexibility and tweaking.
Case in point here. Harrison has been among our best offensive weapons down the left. Now he's pushed to the bench because he can't figure out how to get Sinsiterra and Harrison into the same team. That's a luxury we don't have. Marsh has to figure out how to use them together.
Our squad is good enough, We're missing one or two pieces, but who isn't. It's the managers job to make what he has work.

Exactly that, i did i honestly did, even the hammerings didn't bother me a jot, not saying i wanted them, but it was still intriguing how he went about things right till the final whistle striding up and down the touchline thinking thinking thinking and never running from his principles and wouldn't flinch, he never ever seemed to me the slightest bit concerned about relegation just the game in hand.
But you're right it was still good to watch how he'd try something with the gash.
