He has no real explanation for that bar the weak Cooper 3 games in 8 days excuse but was unlucky to lose PS. Up front it wasn’t so much the starting formation as the use of subs. But there is a massive gulf in form between home & away and I’m hoping that will continue Sunday.

I don't really see a point sacking him this side of the world cup... But I would if he gave us little to nothing next 4 games while getting knocked out of the cup. I certainly wouldn't get him what he wants in January, he has to earn that now.

Re: Marsch Out
But we cant just argue he needs a striker and a lwb.
The system is hideous and he is getting outthought weekmin week out.
Many were scathing about Bielsa being wedded to his beliefs but at least he was giving us something back in return.

But dont you think if we change mid season we need to appoint someone whose style is similar to Marsch anyway?
Changing style mid season is imo never the answer (was one of the reasons Bielsa to Marsch was so odd).
Maybe appoint someone with atleast a record of making the style work outside of a farmers league?

Why does his system generally seem to work so much better home v away. 8 points from 5 games. If the away form was half as good…

Re: Marsch Out
Ideally, Marsch will be drinking in the Last Chance Saloon on Sunday, but I have no confidence whatsoever that the string pullers will hold any notion of taking that kind of decision - particularly as the owner is clinging sweetly to the 49'ers coat tails in order to stop them from rescinding their option to buy the club and thereby negating a potentially profitable exit. All the other potential suitors that were once allegedly queuing up to buy LUFC appear to be either in hiding or familiarising themselves with the Geordie accent.
The truth IMO is that Radrizzani does not possess the requisite wealth to take Leeds forward. Like his rather silly and increasingly fantastical CEO, he speaks to ambition and intent, yet is as far away from his oft repeated desire to establish LUFC as a top 8 club, as he was when the words left his lips to begin their transition towards rhetoric. The wave of elation, euphoria and false expectation that we all shared on our eventual return to the top table, was rendered redundant. as we collectively grappled with a sour, deflating, miserable and, ultimately, familiar fight for survival. Initially allowed to flirt with aspiration rather than reality, we united in our belief that LUFC really were "BACK". A one city club with a singular fan base and a Chairman/Board that understood our expectation, shared our aspirations and echoed our vision of season-on-season progression and statement. Instead, despite first season optimism, the grim, often unedifying reality is that we have apparently tried to sign every top player in Europe and beyond - with a MO based around the concept of finding out the asking price and then offering half of same.
I have no predilection for the board to spend monies they do not possess, but I maintain that the current expenditure, and the calibre of incoming is sufficient only to maintain the status quo, and, as we have noted, even that limited objective is by no means a given - especially if the managerial appointment is subject to the same degree of thrift, ambition and attainment - the paucity of which is probably exacerbated and driven influentially by the owners in waiting.

Re: Marsch Out
Stupid to remove Koch if the only reason was because he was on a yellow. Yes sometimes managers take off a player who they think is one bad tackle away from a sending off but that is usually when a player has been lucky to still beon the pitch (i.e. some refs would have already sent him off).faaip wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 7:51 am Marsch then compounded the error by moving Llorente back to his favoured right side where he hasn't played this season and taking off Koch. Now I know Koch was on a yellow but you cannot second guess a second yellow, that way madness lies. Especially as Koch didn't look like he was likely to get a second yellow... OK we didn't concede after but still another JM baffling desision for me
Llorente had actually began to look a bit better after a few games on the season as he was getting used to the left - Marsch then played him on the right v Barnsley in the cup which I highlighted at the time as a stupid decision as it completely disrupted Llorente getting used to the left side. I played both left and right of centre but it does throw you when you move after playing on one side for a few matches.

Re: Marsch Out
Absolute madness if he was then deemed fit enough to start the second half. The logic would have been to start him, ask him at half time how he is feeling and then take it from there. It was just complete lunacy to drop him if he was deemed fit to play a full half. You can't even judge pre-match how physical the match might be, he might have had one of those games where you don't have to actually do loads of running (i.e. we keep possesion well, keep our shape etc).

Re: Marsch Out
I said after the Arsenal game that my concern was that our 2 best performances came against teams who had been drilled by their manager to play our from the back every time - it is basically the only oppositiion tactic that plays into our hands. Arsenal and Chelsea aren't allowed to play long so they were vulnerable to us, play a few balls over us and the press is beaten and we're wide open.Kennyb41 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 10:17 am That Arsenal performance got him a lot of Brownie points.
They completely disappeared and some with - 1. Selection, 2. Performance, 3. Absent tactics, 4. Manic substitutions, 5. Crazy rotation he obviously tried.
He has lost so much credibility in one game it's quite astounding.
When we have the ball we have very little creativity, our chances in the main are due to opposition mistakes by either losing the ball when we press or simply over playing it in an area where we have commited plenty of people forward. Even last night our best chance, when Sini hit the bar, came as a result of Sini over running the ball then having it deflected back to him by a poor Leicester touch.

Shows how little you know about modern football.
It's all research and stats and xG and tactical analysis.
Your dear Bert had a whole team of people who did all that for him and then briefed him on it.
I won't argue with you Kenneth but suffice to say I know more than you
Please don't respond with your usual nonsense.
Won't argue, you had your say (on a post totally unrelated to you) I had mine

They won't sack him yet ffs, they should if they know what's good for them and can see the future like young Kennyboy, but they won't, like you they'll be too coy to admit they fcked up big style.
Bite- nose-face-off-spite-their.
We just have to pray they leave him enough time to get this mish mash befuddled group of nobodies ship shape again, try and get some to be able to run for 90 mins again, also try and get 6 or 7 of them to be able to retain possession and learn them how to pass to one another, teach them to find space for themselves and make themselves available at all times when we have the ball, including the keeper.

What a post, would you like to respond to that Sara, Weasel ?
It's way out of my depth, i'll comment on the first bit though...We need to get stuffed by Fulham at home, but don't sack him yet, that's unfair on the incoming (be like going over the top) v Liverpool next game, get a good hiding from Liverpool, then ring Argentina if not already been done after Fulham, or better still, today.
