His stats and write ups look impressive to me, got to be a better option than Ayling who despite his massive heart looked all at sea at times last season, and 10M seems a bargain. Only downside is it may push Cody out the door, hope he stays and fights for his place, healthy competition throughout the team will keep players on their toes.

It is a big step up in quality from the Austrian Bundesliga. No denying that. However, based on my own Champion's League observations, that RB Salzburg team from last season would finish mid-table in the Premier League. There is an awful lot of talent in that club. With a proven track record.

Like you i only need my eyes and observations when i see them live, stats don't really float my boat and i don't see much foreign footy if any, tbh i'm trusting Jesses eye coz he's actually played some football more than the grade A clowns, i'd be worried shitless if Jesse was trusting him to bring him some players whilst he knuckles down to getting the players ship shape and raring to go for this new formation and new season ahead.

If Jesse has the time on his hands to go around Europe watching all these players whilst keeping everyone trained up and getting them drilled in his new style in just a few weeks then good on him

Ok it’s a yes from me.

He’s a big imposing fella which should help in our defending and attacking of set pieces but also looks to have a decent ability to dribble and a good turn of pace for a big man. Luke will need replacing at sometime in the near future and it looks as though Drameh is not going to be trusted for that slot so if Marsch is confident in him and he’s not too expensive then why not?

Also for a defender to have got 7 goals, 4 assists and just one yellow card in approximately 30 matches must say something. I’m sure Junior Firpo would kill for those stats!

Red Bull Salzburg had the sense to sign Erling Haaland in early 2019, whereas we didn't - so that tells you all you need to know about their scouting, and all that you need to know about Victor Orta and his team. I would trust their scouting set up far more than ours quite frankly.

Given that we struggle to score goals, a RB who can score and create assists would be worth his weight in gold.

Not one to defend Radz and Co but Bielsa said on numerous occasions he was grateful for the backing he had from.the board.

They spent £150mil on backing Bielsa and gave him the 2nd largest wage bill in Championship history.

He was definitely backed.

They need to back Marsch in the same.way imo as they should any manager they appoint.

And they made him the highest paid championship manager at that time.

Aaronson signing was a sweetener to keep the Leeds fans content for now. Anyhow, that deal was set up months ago as long as we stayed up.

I won't allow myself to get excited until I see the full extent of our signings & our pre-season of course!

I suspect our transfer business could be done on a one in one out basis, which could be suicidal as we need more quality & a larger squad.

We have massive holes to fill, lose Raphinha or Phillips would make the holes look like craters.

We don't want to be waiting until the end of August for signings, we need them in place as soon as possible.

You back the manager all the way until you stop backing him and try to sign players that his successor might want but he doesn't, then you sack him, and then it turns out that his confidence that those players were not required is 100% correct, and then you proceed to sign those players. Not neccesarily because I would have thought that with him playing for the best team in Austria he would have spent most of his time attacking and as such was less likely to be picking up yellow cards (unless he's a diver) than someone who is constantly having to make tackles.

I know he's f**king gone, I'm over it, I want to talk about the direction we're taking for next season. That involves looking at whether this new system is suited to the squad we have, which has been built to play a certain way, and what the implications are of now buying for a completely different system.

Maybe just respond to these points at face value without auto defaulting to 'quit moaning about Bielsa', and then the conversation would be more fruitful for everybody.

The thank you was meant sincerely. We have differing opinions on may things, to be sure (we agree on a lot, too), but there is no point to be served rehashing the Bielsa decision. We have to move past that.

Marsch is fair game for criticism, assuming he deserves it, as is every coach and player. Criticizing Marsch, however, for failing to play a style for which the team was built is a bit unfair, don't you think? If we wanted someone to play the way the team was built for we'd not have brought Marsch in in the first place.

I think it's still a bit early in the game to be down on Marsch for his style of play or for the way he uses players who were not selected for his system. We'll have a much better idea of how successful his plan is going to be after we get back from Oz. There are encouraging signs. Aaronson is a great start and Kristensen looks to be the real deal, and we're not breaking the bank with either acquisition (assuming Kristensen comes on board). The transfer window is just opening. The next two or three weeks will tell us a lot.
