and mine unfortunately.
I hope we can make something off him.
Marsch OUT
Football has undergone a process of bielsification; pressing and possessing, passing rather than dribbling, intercepting high up the field rather than making last-ditch tackles, are in vogue.

So is the premise of the OP that Leeds are in the best footballing and financial position in 20 years despite Orta instead of because of?
Look around football and money is being burned everywhere. Better do that than give it to the players via wages
Wilko that with transfers it is 50/50 if they are going to be a success or not. Flip of a coin.
Its Football.
A lot on that list were players who were brought in with minimum investment, then handed to some clueless coaches who were unable to do much with them.
It is the algorithm game. Buy em cheap after looking at their metrics and hope to knock em out for a profit.
Where we are poor is the selling on aspect I reckon.
Think of little Brentford. Their current squad has THIRTY NINE
If they can sell a few for seven figures happy days, but most go by the wayside.
I once asked Billy Bremner "why did you buy David Harle" ?
We had a brief chat about him, I thought he was crap, Billy said " I bought him for *£5000, I sold him for £25,000*, not bad business"
He was right of course, it was a business idea, DH laked only 3 times for United, he had LUFC on his CV , his price went through the roof.
** To say the exact figures may not be correct**
" Man is not affected by events but by the view he takes of them "
Now members of the jury, I would suggest that the only player on that list that Mr Bert 100% categorically requested after seeing him play for Swansea a couple of times v Leeds is a certain Mr James, and not at anywhere near 25m did he want to pay, but he doesn't take care of the financial side of things as he is too busy with his binoculars.
A Mr Ryan Giggs then rudely recommended Mr James to Man U and the outgoing Swansea chairman saw £ signs and Kiboshed the whole deal at 11.59pm on deadline day and the grade A clown had so much egg on his face that 29,498 omelettes were eaten in the Elland Rd canteen over the next few weeks.
I have absolutely no doubt that Mr Bert probably ok'd a lot of the under 23's trusting the clowns tongue.
M'lud, my client requested the Monkey with a pin and the Italian mafia break the bank if they have to to bring a certain Mr Ben White to Elland Rd, or that perhaps he was told they couldn't afford £50m and that the Clown would go on a jolly and bring him back a pick n mix bagshyte of defenders with the said £50m that they expected him to work wonders with.
After pulling all of his remaining hair out and not being able to find the time to go and scout them for himself, my client begrudgingly accepted the chicken bart theds dumped at his back office door wrapped in cotton wool and preceded to try to turn water into wine.
I have no doubt M'lud that my client did indeed say - "Oh ffs then yes! If that's all you can find you fcking clown, now close the fcking door on your way out"
If M'lud thinks my client would have sanctioned all the complete and utter gash that today fills the courtroom with shyte, he must conclude that my client has no eyes in his head and has 2 ton of s**t for brains and thus find him guilty.
Members of the jury : Please retire to consider your verdict, I expect you back in this courtroom in 45 seconds.

While Orta's record is definitely hit and miss, its probably also worth looking at Leeds signings under a revered manager, Sgt Wilko, to see what sort of record he has. I think my point is that football isn't an exact science. And not every player is bought to be a superstar - some are investments, punts, with the hope of recouping a larger fee in the future.

While there are undoubtedly club legends in there, there's a LOT of filler and no-names too. I don't think Orta walks on water but nor do I think he's buying dross over and over either.
Yes, the club should have invested more in January given the injuries but we had spent a lot as a newly promoted team and done well in the first season. It now looks likely that more investment is coming this summer. At this level it could realistically take a decade of astute recruitment, resale profits and managerial competence to achieve top 6 or top 4 finishes. Without throwing Qatari or Saudi money at the market, that's what we are looking at.
Jeez ! I only had to watch 30 mins of this bag of wind to realise he's the clumsiest chicken bart thed i've ever seen in my life, and am i right in saying that we actually had the chance to bin him but then continued buying the pillock.
Now i'm not joking here, this deal is where i think the clown is involved in shady stuff, because anyone that can't see how shyte he is should not be allowed through ANY football doors at all.
Just that 1 fcking example should show the world and his brother that the clown either A : Is up to summert. Or B. Does not know his fcking arse from his elbow.
I'd suggest both.

Thanks Mental, found it now.
How can he include Kante in that team, he's class imo!
He still has a hold of the chequebook, and the guy that could only wave his wand so much and is considered by the best coaches to be one of the worlds best coaches is not.
Jesse pal, a word in your shell like, if you want it to work at Elland Rd, bring in your own man fella, coz this guys gonna give you endless sleepless, and you'll end up carrying the can.

I agree regards Kante, the rest have been poor this season, but Kante, OK he's been out injured, but when he's been in the team , well, he's class

I think there's something in that team relating to money value somewhere.
Kante has had a below par season for him playing time wise and standard of performance, but imo that's down to Tuchel using him wrong.
I can't put my finger on it, but it looks like a money wasted type of team, or a value for money = ? x minutes or summert like that.
Dunno.

So players who were good value for money and made meaningful contributions are the successful ones.
The Failures are the ones we overpaid on or got poor value for or low contributions.
The either or are the ones who were meh Neither awful or great but maybe still have time to redeem themselves either way.
Has to be said 9 successful signings Orta is responsible for isn't a great record.
More worryingly though is the amount of big money signings we got poor value for.
No McKinstry on the list Cjay. Was he pre Orta?
The flowers of common sense do not grow in everyone's garden
What is evident from CJays list is when Orta gets it wrong it goes spectacularly wrong.
Most of our biggest flops in recent times have been the ones that cost the most.
Rodrigo 27m
Firpo 16m
James 25m
Costa 21m
Not including Llorente and Harrison who both divide opinion.
Hopefully Aaronsen will buck the trend, just as Raphinha did.
Dear God we've had some right s**t at the club. I'd forgotten about a lot of them, banished from my memory.
The Rafa Murjica signing was laughable. If I remember rightly he played half a pre season game, got sent out on loan and never returned.
However I would put Poveda in the failure group. He wasn't even a regular at Blackburn before his injury.
Llorente has had some very good games for us so I wouldn't put him in the failure group. He was blighted by injury in his first season.
