As we did without Bamford in the first-half, Wolves scored their 1st goal within minutes of Paddy's departure.

And 2nd just after Cresswell came on with us already having lost Llorente just a few minutes earlier.

Would Wolves have had as much time to play the longball that led to the 1st goal if Bamford was chasing up top? And would we have been asleep at the free kick if we weren't trying to work out where everyone was given the recent disruptions. For all the sending off helped I don't think we deserved to be 2-0 down and think we could have got something out of the game even 11 v11.

Having won 5 games out of 28 with Bielsa, Jesse has now given us two successive wins I think for the first time this season - his only ' crime' seemingly is that he is not called Marcelo Bielsa.

Yeah still plenty of Bielsa fan boys on here.
When Marsch wins we're lucky.
When Bielsa loses 7-0 we're unlucky.
FFS give the guy a chance.
First time this season we've won 2 on the bounce and first time we've won after going behind.

Surely it's time to celebrate the positives and if we get a bit of luck on the way it's been well overdue

Has much changed in our style of play since Bielsa left - in my opinion the answer is no. Now I am not criticising that because we are on balance still a great watch with the outcome always in the the lap of the gods. Personally after so many years of turgid crap before MB arrived I like the often frustrating edge of the seat manic game. More so retrospectively rather than watching it live at times.
Marsch, it would appear has a similar philosophy, whether he is a poor man’s Bielsa is yet to be determined. You cannot judge him on the remainder of the season whatever the outcome.

For some he will never be accepted because in their eyes he walks in the shadow of a Leeds great and is vicariously blamed for Bielsa’s departure.
It certainly makes the forum very interesting reading.

Incidentally we won two on the bounce before Christmas I believe - wasn’t the Wet Spam game the second. Could be wrong just going from an aging and decaying memory.

Just remembered my original point for the post which I never included because I went off on a tangent.
Ayling said something interesting and perhaps insightful in his post match interview. I cannot recall verbatim and I cannot be arsed to link it, but he mentioned a new found confidence or change under Marsch. In some ways it does add credence that rumours of dressing room discontent under MB were correct.
If that is the case the board made the right decision to sack Bielsa, few can argue that once the dressing room is losing belief then there has to be a change.

There was definitely unrest in the dressing room, the reason why the board reacted as they did.

Aye - I remember your comments from your anonymous source on the night of the long knives. Whilst I did not disbelieve at the time as they made sense but I always like corroboration - Ayling added further proof for me.
Next two games could see us safe if we win them but that would not be Leeds. The roller coaster continues …………………….. expect the unexpected.

I don't get why you are trying to start an argument that needn't be started by trying to be antagonistic. Why should anyone not continure to be a fan of Bielsa and grateful for what he did? I'm a huge fan of Bielsa and for what he did for the club. Did a hell of a lot more right than he did wrong.

I always try to be balanced and have seen some positives and some negatives from Marsch but the main thing at this point of the season is results and as I have said next season is the real time to judge JM as it isn't like he can make drastic changes mid-season (it's not like he is coming in as a Sam Allardyce type figure and completely changes the way the team is playing).

Because we won it seems the anti-Bielsa people jump on the chance ot have a go at people who still had faith in Bielsa. We can't know whether we would have won last night with Bielsa in charge, similarly in the games we lost under JM we don't know if we would have done better under Bielsa, under Lampard, under Allardyce etc. It just comes accross as a petty way of belittling a man who put us back into the premier league and gave us some of the best football ever seen at ER as well as for a long time uniting a fan base that had been splintered and giving the city of Leeds an identity and pride again.

I would say Rodrigro (I've not always been his biggest fan) looks like a transformed player since Marsch has come in. It's great to see that passion and energy, and the way he celebrated with fans. Long may it continue!

It is likely some players may have more licence to play their natural games rather than been shoe horned into playing within a system that doesn’t suit them.
Incidentally, I am a massive Bielsa fan, but I have always said that certain players did not suit his system, and as the injuries mounted and we were more reliant on players who more often than not struggle playing his system, this was reflected by the results. No doubt playing out of position is a hindrance , but having to suppress natural instinctive tendencies will take a toll, particularly with older established players.
Having said that Rodrigo has always struggled for consistency since he arrived. Whether he has suddenly found his mojo remains to be seen. But he did have a very good game last night.

You've totally missed the point I was making.
You're the one being antagonist assuming I am anti Bielsa.
Not having a go at Bielsa at all just the folk who won't give JM a chance because he isn't Bielsa.
If you go back through the posts you will see comments about how Marsch is lucky, how he won't get us playing football how the best thing for us would be for him to get sacked next season etc etc.
Like I said give the poor guy a chance ffs.

Read the half time posts from last night's match thread. Many of Bielsa's biggest critics were first in with slamming Marsch, and some of us who supported Bielsa said he still deserves a chance.

As I said last night, it's not a matter of pro and anti Bielsa and Marsch. It's that some posters get hysterical and want everyone sacked, managers, players, the system is a shambles, we're doomed unless everything changes etc. And others stay calm.

People not giving JM a chance are not giving him a chance because he isn't Bielsa but more likely because they are worried about JM as a coach full stop. It is hard to really know how good a coach he is because he is fairly much unproven as a coach, certainly in the big leagues where his only daliance is a failure in Germany. I think there has only been one person suggesting it is best he is sacked.

At this stage of the season luck can be a huge factor. I would suggest that so far there has been a micture of luck for Marsch. Take the Norwich game and with better luck (in front of goal) we don't need to get the bit of luck at the end. Against Leicester we got no luck. Similarly last night with a bit of luck (or better finishing) we go in front v Wolves and it is a different game. Similarly we had bad luck followed by good luck for our first 2 goals, hitting the post, shot cleared off the line but we still score, then James hits the crossbar we recylce the ball and score. Where in other games the shot hits the bar and goes out of play for a goal kick, or hits the post and is then cleared etc.

I think the vast majority of fans are happy to give JM a chance, whether they were for or against Bielsa being sacked. It doesn't mean that concerns being raised shouldn't be simply dismissed as being because he isn't Bielsa in the same way praise shouldn't be dismissed simply because he isn't Bielsa. But to come on and start a post by labelling people as Bielsa fan boys, as if it is an insult, smacks of being antagonistic. Like I said every Leeds fan should be thankful for what Bielsa did for us regardless of how it ended.

Based on what I've seen so far I have no idea if Jesse Marsch is the right man to take us forward. But I have to say I like him.

Not seen anything positive tactically from him so far but still early days. Clearly got the team spirit high though
