James end product and creativity is almost non existent.

He has played 399 league minutes for us and created 2 chances, 2.

That means he has created 1 chance every 169 minutes.

Joe Gelhardt played 41 minutes vs Wolves and created 1 chance.

For James to only create 1 more in 358 more minutes is an unbelievably poor total for a £25mil pound winger (Raph creates a chance every 40min)
That's really damning.

I said at the time, we don't have £25m to spend on someone who "might" be good. You need genuine quality at that price.

Klich is so far off the standard now it’s not funny. Such a pity to have Gelhardt come on and not receive more than two or three passes to his feet. Nearly everything was hit high and in hope.

As everyone is now saying, the lack of a quality central midfielder is killing us, and without Raphinha, making us so harmless to play against.
Agree.

MB ironically made us worse with his changes.

Forshaw was tidy tbf to him , not the answer to our midfield but he did OK.

My two cents: proper shambles in the second half with just no creativity and a lot of hit and hope stuff. However, in the first half we gave as good as we got. So let me focus on that half: I'm not sure we don't have creativity (as long as the right people are playing), but what is clearly a problem is end product. The biggest problems in that end product category are: 1) We make poor choices for that final pass; or 2) We dally allowing the opposition players to get back and cover; or 3) Our shooting is terrible. So even when we're being dominant and getting forward, we don't make the most of it because of one of 1) 2) or 3) or a combination.

We chucked that game away in an instance.
Agreed but thats what happens when you pick a player who is burnt out.

Klich said as much last summer.

He was injured and knackered.

For the club to not get him some help in cm is criminal.

Roberts & Forshaw were doing fine with Llorente showing plenty of class too.

Didn't realise it was so bad tbh, it's an appalling total.

2 chances created in nearly 400 minutes for a Premier League winger is shocking.

I can make it worse with 1 sentence

Norwich's left back has played 50 less minutes and created 1 more chance

This highlights it.

When your footballing brain picks the player to your left you know you have an issue as a creative force.

arsenal are a solid team at the minute anyway, we know our limitations this season and don't think many really cared about this cup

a win on sunday is MUCH more important - the cup was never going to be a priority and it probably saved us from a thumping by somebody else

for me, the lack of creativity is the issue at the moment, we're spending large chunks of games not creating any chances which is very concerning - beyond rapha there is noone in the team creating chances out of nothing at the minute (and the one from Gelhardt)

They were tbf as a unit atleast (not to say either were particularly awesome individuals).

No way was Cooper for Llorente planned, the reaction from Llorente showed that.

Roberts was completely anonymous. Forshaw was ok, but never a threat.

So you'd swap James for Costa?

Hate seeing us lose or even draw tbh, but tonight in the first half with decent finishing we could have wrapped it up, could & should again , how many more times will we say it ??
Having said that ,the only time I really got irate was when Arteta tried to get a player booked, there were some positives however :
1/ We can concentrate on the bread & butter of the league till FA cup in January.
2/ A few more precious minutes for the youngsters.
Forshaw isn't the answer to our midfield difficiencies, Llorente going off was hopefully for a rest (hope to god he ain't injured again)
Bielsa cocked up with so many subs imo, how can he keep justifying Roberts role ?

If they read this forum for expert advice, MB would have been sacked after the scum game.

Point is we were doing fine with the starting XI for all what fans think about certain players.

Says it all I'm afraid, an international footballer not able to play the right ball from that position beggars belief !
