Re: Today's Games
Can't wait to watch Match of the Day....Alan Shearer is gonna be apoplectic.
Disgraceful decisions by the so called 'officials'. I rate Michael Oliver very highly, I have since I watched his first game in charge.....but he was well and truly shaf**d by those in charge of VAR, as were Liverpool and Van Dyk....but he should have gone and looked at the VAR screen himself....THAT'S WHAT ITS THERE FOR MICHAEL!

Pickford escaped punishment as Van Dijk was offside in the build-up, although it is understood VAR official David Coote subsequently did not check for a potential red card, despite having the power to do so.
Liverpool have called into question the failure to scrutinise Pickford's challenge on Van Dijk

Wonderful save from Darlow after Fernandes had smashed the penalty kick

Hate to admit it but that was a great team goal from Manure with a fantastic finish from Fernandes

Newcastle are poor, we are quite capable of taking four to six points off this lot

Re: Today's Games
I honestly have no clue what the title race is going to look like now. Thought liverpool were going to steamroll another but as you said, they've lost their most important player for the season. City also look vulnerable... will we see another "Leicester" type season?mothbanquet wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2020 6:35 pm Van Dijk out for the rest of the season apparently, ACL knackered...
The incident though... got it right that he was offside, but still the VAR should've caught it and produced a red. The challenge has some similarities to the one Wesley had for us when he did his ACL vs Burnley and Ben Mee.

Pickford should be banned, just like Beckford was, although it won't happen as he doesn't play for us

Yes, shocking precedent. Game is apparently no longer ‘live’ until the whistle stops it.Smudge3920 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2020 7:53 pm What a stupid precident ...If that was a rule you would have players like me running to take out an opposition player every offside call... as its a freebie

Re: Today's Games
It's tough to say on this one. If a linesman calls for offside, the play stops and the foul never happens. But ... we see plenty of situations of a ball going out for a throw, followed by a bad tackle, and the player gets sent off. Idk on this one. That said. I like Pickford. Still think he's England's best keeper. So I'll hold my judgment.Smudge3920 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2020 7:53 pm What a stupid precident ...If that was a rule you would have players like me running to take out an opposition player every offside call... as its a freebie

Re: Today's Games
Thanks to some really poor referee/VAR decisions & that clumsy buffoon between the sticks taking out Liverpool's top defender for the season that is the main reason why the best team in the PL may not retain their champions status this seasonandrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sun Oct 18, 2020 7:16 am Thanks to Covid, this could be the weirdest, most unpredictable season ever

Re: Today's Games
As I posted in a earlier post, it doesn't help when the best team in the league were robbed yesterday, they steamrollered the toffees, that game could quite easily ended up another 7-2 had it not been for the appalling officiallingvisitingvillan wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2020 9:53 pm I honestly have no clue what the title race is going to look like now. Re: Today's Games
Draws in all 4 of today’s PL games would be great as it would give us the opportunity to increase the gap from the bottom 3 and close in on the top 3

Re: Today's Games
If we win tomorrow we'll definitely be above Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, we are already higher than the two Mancs clubs, we could be 3rd or 4th if the results pan out in our favourrich_leeds64 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 18, 2020 7:52 am Draws in all 4 of today’s PL games would be great as it would give us the opportunity to increase the gap from the bottom 3 and close in on the top 3![]()
