Can’t help feeling we need an experienced keeper as a number two. God forbid our first choice would pick up an injury and have to play Kiko. November's EFL player of the month. Often the reason he hadn't many shots to face was his anticipation where he would come out of the box and clear the danger before the opposition were able to turn the opportunity into a chance. More to how well a keeper plays than just stats.

I disagree. He's a good keeper, with good experience and plays the way Bielsa likes. As we are right now, I see him starting ahead of Meslier.

The biggest issue is that racist statement that came in a bad era. I wouldn't be sorry to see him go, but only on the right terms. That is not paying half his wages.

If he goes, I would look at another keeper. Martinez is talked about a lot but I don't see Arsenal letting him go. He's pushing for the No. 1 spot. Sergio Romero is the obvious option. Since Henderson signed a new contract, Romero is third in line.

You maybe right AJS, I like to think Meslier deserves the start after his performances covering for Kiko... with no crowds as yet when we start the season I think we can get away with keeping him awhile, but a new prem ready keeper is essential...

I would really worry about Casilla against Premier League forwards. He was regularly caught out last season and he doesn’t seem to have any physical presence for a big man. Also, there’s never a good era for a racist comment. He remains tainted by that episode.

Martinez seems determined to move on from Arsenal and would be a great addition. Hope we get him.

I'm with Eire here, irrespective of the racism allegations Kiko never filled me with confidence.

Some keepers command their box and exude competence and reliability to the back four and I just never thought he fell into that category at Leeds. Given his pedigree he must have something about him, but we regularly saw 1 or 2 shots on goal and we were 1 or 2 goals down - or maybe it just felt like that - and that was against Championship teams.

Meslier for me, or another experienced head if Bielsa feels it's needed and we can get shot of Kiko without serious financial damage.

I always thought that without definite proof “the balance of probability” judgement was a flimsy, even unacceptable basis for potentially ruining a player’s career but It is what it is.

Guilty or not, we will never know for sure but that won’t stop opposition fans (when we’re back to normal) from giving him a really hard time, which is bound to affect him personally and may well have an adverse effect on the whole team - something we can’t afford in the Premier League.

For that reason I think we need to try and get rid if we can. I think Meslier is a better keeper anyway.

Wish we could ship Kiko out, he is not good enough at Championship level, if he starts for us in goal in the PL it will fill me with fear

Casilla started today - Could have given Caprile a game. It sounds like we're ready to keep him but willing to listen to offers too.

I think its all open right now. If they get an offer for Kiko, they'd let him go. A decent offer, I know we got him for free but we don't want to be paying half his wages. And we'll only look for a new keeper if Kiko does leave.

If kiko starts as first choice keeper I will (and I think quite a few others) have lost a bit of respect for bielsa. The number of mistakes he made last season was astonishing... Meslier than came in and steadied the ship. To put casilla back in would be madness. As a number two ok

The problem with kiko was that he blows hot and cold. Can be awesome one minute or one month and drop an absolute clanger the next minute or the whole of the next month. Can't be taking such risks in the prem when mistakes/points will be vital
