Impossible to compare due to the different formations. In the league match we kept their front 3 quiet apart from the gift goal. Maybe part of tonight's performance was due to us maybe not being as up for it as we would have been if we were playing Brentford.

It's only just sinking in what we're about to achieve. What an incredible achievement by everybody at the club. This is going to transform the club and peoples lives.

I enjoyed it but I'm a purist, if it's just about the result for you then don't watchMuppet the Cat wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 7:29 pm Just got in from work, having been in a Zoom Committee meeting from 3.00 to 7.30 so missed the entire game.
Mrs Muppet recorded for me - honest opinions is it worth watching in full ????
I'm getting from the match thread posts that we weren't on our A game today![]()

Okay, I think I had the rosey specs on after seeing the highlights. Really exhausting to watch.
On the bright side though, how many times have we played like that and still won?

I agree cjay but in his defence he isn't a midfielder no matter what Bielsa see's in him. He should be producing more I agree but some players just aren't cut out to play anywhere other than their preferred position. When he has played up front he looks more comfortable but we all know who MB prefers there.Cjay wrote:Despite the 3 points i really struggle to see what exactly Tyler Roberts brings to the party?
He has the occasional nice touch or moment but he has been hooked for Pablo every game since the restart and while he probably would have been regardless he hasnt deserved not to be.
Lot of our fans rate him i know but as a 10 he hasnt scored or created anything, 14 goals scored since the restart and Tyler hasnt scored or created any.
Cant remember a player so lauded for so little evidence.
Still young and time to improve but that's no excuse, plenty of players younger have shown far more in this league. Imo a loan next season would do him good, let him go out and get a full season under his belt elsewhere because Prem level he isnt at the moment.
I certainly don't think Tyler will be the only one out of his depth in the PL if we get there either.

Re: Leeds United v Barnsley - MATCH THREAD
We looked tired, both in body and mind. The lack of quick closing down, poor passing and choice of passes was a shock to most people watching today. They looked so young, fast and direct it was scary. If they had a striker we would have lost that 3-1 at a minimum.
So to win this showed some of the extra resilience and experience we’ve acquired this year. We can dig in and battle to three points. Normally we had to be totally dominant to even win by one goal. Top teams win bad games or playing badly. Having said that it was excruciating to watch and not good for the blood pressure. Philips, as we always knew, is crucial to us and the changes to replace him barely held the line.
Anyway, we’ve reached the brink and how these last key points were added will be quickly forgotten. The table doesn’t lie - we’re the best team in this league and our finishing numbers, in spite of what some others are saying, will compare favorably with many previous Championship promotion sides. Pride Park is the ideal place to nail this achievement down. Vamos Leeds Carajo!

If Costa has broken ribs Mowatt should be getting a retrospective red for it .Velotrax wrote: I think it's on Crime Watch next week, certainly an assault,

Are you really suggesting that when Barnsley missed that open goal header, its cos of our extra resiliience, or the time and time again we lost the ball in our own half just to see Barnsley shoot wide was cos of extra resillience?
In truth, our team has not improved at all from last year, that is not a criticism, we were awesome then and we are now. Last year we got 1 point from our last 4 games and missed out on the autos because of that, this year we are playing the same way, only this year we are having the run of the ball. Last year the Swansea game would have ended 0-0 and we would have lost the Barnsley game alla Wigan last year, then with confidence low and nerves high we lost our last 2 games last season to to miss out, allowing Sheffield to go on an amazing run and take our spot, for Sheffield read Brentford this year. Take 1 point from our last 4 games this year and we would again have missed out and that could so easily have happened without the run of the ball
We were terribly unlucky last year, this year we have had the luck on our side and that is really the only difference. Yes we will go up this year, like with reasonable breaks we would have done last season.
