Was mentioned elsewhere the other day

Got to be cheap surely? Few million.

This is what Ai says

• Elite Ball Distribution: Comfortable playing out from the back with exceptionally high short-passing completion rates.
• Ambidexterity: Possesses genuine comfort using both feet, allowing him to bypass intense opposition pressing lines.
• Sweeper-Keeper Instincts: Aggressive off his line, frequently acting as an extra defender to clear long balls and intercept dangerous passes.
• Calm Under Pressure: Maintains composure in high-risk scenarios when being closed down by opposition attackers. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

• Below-Average Shot-Stopping: Statistics indicate a lower save percentage (around 65-66%) compared to league peers, often finishing with a negative "goals prevented" metric.
• Inconsistent Aerial Command: Can struggle when claiming crosses or commanding his box under heavy physical pressure.
• Parrying & Rebounds: Tends to punch or deflect shots back into dangerous central areas rather than safely holding onto the ball. [1, 2, 3]

Very sensible. Like I have said previously a good squad player, always the potential to be a cracking first team player if he can improve his end product. Doubt it will be astronomical wages and think it will be at least a couple of years before we get to the point where we have enough money to have a squad of 25 that are all deemed as being better than BA. Losing him for a free at the end of this season and then having to spend big money to replace him made little sense.

This is good news, looking after our assets.
Brenden can be frustrating but he can also be very useful with his high energy hussle. It might be he has another decent season and then we move him on next closed season if an upgrade becomes available.

Hopefully you are right

I'm not his biggest fan, he has his uses I suppose but I don't think he's earned a new Premier League contract in his time here for an okish Championship and Premier league season.

Just hope we don't have another Jack Harrison situation where he did ok in parts, then we couldn't shift him for love nor money.

Depends on the salary but I'd imagine it's over 100K now

Haters are gonna hate this. But in my view, he's earned a couple more years and a slight bump in pay. I see him as a situational starter/key substitute player. A player that can change a game with his energy and tenacity. And if we continue to get some goal production then he might end up being a bit more. This was an easy decision for the club in my view.

The consensus of opinion seems to be that it is along the same lines as his previous deal rather than some big increase.

Don’t be stupid! He’s on £60k max and I know nothing about this sort of thing.

I’m 50/50 on this. Nobody ever came in for him so that’s £25m spent for, IMO a £10m player. He runs hot/cold. Match winner on his day so I embrace this. A valuable squad member who will run through a wall for this club.. He has earnt this…

I agree he deserves a new contract.
Just watched his interview and I give him all the credit in the world for not only saying Leeds is his home and he feels so happy at the club, but answering openly about his return and the stick he got then. Fully understands why and was committed to earn the respect needed. In my view he has done that.
He has proven he has the mentality and spirit needed to wear a Leeds shirt.

Yes, he can be frustrating and all over the place, but he can also make some decisive runs and passes.
This pre-season, he looked to me to have matured a bit - Farke trying jim in a slightly different role. :duno:

I dont think he should start as often as he does, but lets see how the season unfolds.

Congratulations Brendon.

I cant see this happening. Leeds paying almost 20million for a backup keeper, after paying 40million for the No. 1 ???

I think Zetterstrom from Derby is more likely. Had an excellent world cup

Well, shows what I know! :roflmao:
Just seen that Leeds have "an agreement in principle" with Frankfurt to sign Zetterer.

But very hazy on the price. I'd seen that they wanted 16million for him - not sure if that was Euro or Pounds - but either would be too expensive to me.

Will be very interesting to see if it goes through and how much.
Its still an odd one to me :duno:

It's got to be a few million surely?

He may have done ok as a number 1 but he's a 31 year old whose had massive injuries and only had 140 or so games at the top level, less than 100 in a top league not counting Holland.

Aside from whether he's good at this or that it's got to be a handful of million at most surely.

I really don't think it's anywhere near that Sub. He was on about £45K. I'd be surprised if it's anything above £65K. Probably a fair piece of business for both sides.

Can't see us paying £20m for the Derby keeper just cos he supposedly had a good world cup. Wasn't impressed with him against us particularly and don't see him as being worth anywhere near that - especialyl as a back up.

The german fella looks decent enough and likely will be a couple of million at most. Doubt we will be spending any more than that on a back-up though we do need to get someone who is competent. The fact he has been 2nd choice a lot is probably a good thing as he will be used to that role.

Ger quoting rumours of £5m, but distancing himself from it.
