Is anyone else concerned where this money is coming from?,I am so glad we are signing these players but my 1 concerned is how close are we to the new rules on spending !!!!!!!.
From what I heard it was likely that we had around £100m available to spend. The sales of Struyjk, Schmidt and Harrison has likely pushed that up to £120m plus getting Harrison and Wober's wages off the books is good. As such if we spend £40m on Trafford to go with the £34mfor Tarik that leaves us with £46m still available. So if we get Brandt on a free then we still have the £46m. So tha could still mean £20m for Shea Charles and £25m for a striker and £1m for a back up keeper.

So in terms of the transfer budget I think it is probably fairly much still in a good position. Wages are obviously an issue as we will have raised the wage bill but let's say that gets raised £10m (likely raised by more initially but then reduced because of those that have left). So that's not much of a problem either as chances are we will probably make a sale or two which should bring in that revenue (i.e. Ramizaana, possibly Perri, maybe Gnonto or Tanaka).

So I don't think there really is a worry financially - albeit it seems crazy as we will likely spend more this summer than the amount that was the total debt at the worst point when we went into financial meltdown.

Great way of laying the money out and I see the following then more than possible. What a transfer window it would be if we finish with:

Wilson (done)
Tarek (done)
Trafford (looking likely)
Brandt (a good possibility)
Espi (rumours from the ITK folk)
Charles (who tha feck knows?)
#2 keeper (free/loan/low sum: unless Perri does stay)

I would say we would also need a backup LB, but perhaps that can be sorted on the free/loan market.

That would be a most outstanding window. We're still no Arsenal/ Man City in terms of overall quality, but I think our squad would be way too strong for the three promoted sides.

Striker, am, back up gk covered in my example and if we were to sign Shea Charles then I'd presume he'd add to the back up cbs alongside Bornauw, JJ and Ampadu. So would just need a lb which could be as simple as bringing Byram back otherwise though would think around £5m if viewed as a back up lb

Whose the attacking midfielder and goalie backup? Cairns is awful and Perri is leaving.

I think Bornauw will leave and Gnonto as well probably (they've been making noises for months through the media).

I can't see anyone leaving other than Joesph, Gelhardt and Perri. We have a small squad. Let's say 2 or 3 young 'uns get added to the squad we are still under the 25 needed. Gnonto/Tanaka/Bornauw etc are going nowhere...

Have to agree.

Those players need to understand that, even if they’re not among the first ten, there will still be plenty of opportunities available to them whether through cup games, injuries, or substitutions.

They will all still be very important parts of the club.

Are you dense? Brandt, in the example I used, was the am and I allocated a rather genorous £1m for a back up keeper - though would expect a freebie or signing someone for a nomial fee, likely mid 30s been on the bench for the last couple of years.

if Bornauw leaves then presumably the money brought in will be used for a replacement.

What makes you think that? There wasn't last season. Injury obviously and if Farke did the next man up thing then they may have hope but he seldom does prefering to shoe horn in a player out of position. (Justin to CB when Bornauw is available etc)

Coming on in the 80th isn't quality time as we've either got the game won so we're playing half paced or we've gone into chaos mode to get a game back

I think Gnonto averaged 15 minutes every 3 or 4 games

Some would say it is the action of an idiot - making an argument against something without reading the original post. Could have saved yourself, this forum, and most importantly Victor and myself a considerable amount of time. As such we are billing you and basing our hourly rate on James Trafford's expected wages.

Seriously: i have nothing better to do than police these pages, nit-pick now and again and wind people up a bit! I've not worked since February due to my surgery and I'm not cleared to return to my job yet. This forum, for me, is very entertaining right now

Who knew :mshr: :P

PS: I am going back to work in August finally!

Not sure I entirely agree. I think Bornaauw will stay because he's picked up another niggly injury. So he wont be too salable just yet - a loan maybe, but dont think so.

I, sadly, do think Willie will leave. If not in this window then in January. He just wants more minutes and wont be getting them.

I agree re. Tanaka - at least I hope he stays.

Joseph is not going anywhere yet as he has at least 7 to 9 months of injury rehab to go through. He wont be playing much this season. Back on loan then - until we can make a bit off him?? We are sure to have a new striker in place which will guarentee he wont get much time at Leeds.

Wont get much for Bornaauw at this point - carrying an injury again apparently?! I do hope hes not turning into another Wober
I hope he stays, he is a useful squad player.

Willie's gotta go - for his own sake - to build his career. Pity.

how much can we get for Gnonto, anything over £25 Million would be great. NOW is the time to sell him
Leeds need a great summer 2026 with outgoings and incoming players
