Given some of the players Belgium have had over the last 10-20 years they've achieved sod all.

Must be one of the biggest underachieving teams.

Possibly but most people agree the Premier League is the most competitive league generally?

And many of those big names were top players in it?

England had a similar issue didn't we? With some of our teams , big names, achieved bugger all?

Maybe it comes down to mentality?

Re: hydration breaks, I’ve come around to some degree after having been a purist at the start of the tournament. Some of the temps played in have been extraordinary (Mexicos venues, Kansas City and Miami come to mind stateside). And the breaks haven’t been long enough to show much in the form commercials (thank God!). There have been some instances of slowing/altering momentum, but generally, they haven’t been as awful as I originally had thought.

Generally curious what others thoughts are now that we’re this far in the tournament.

Not beaten a really good side yet.
Sweden were hopeless.
Norway made 10 changes and could or probably should’ve scored at least twice.
I don’t think they will stroll to the title as some people seem to have already handed them the trophy.

They are making decent teams look average.
No strolling to the title - all it takes is an off day against a team that has some luck.

But for me, France are far and away the most talented squad in the tournament.

They should not be automatic. If temps are going to be above a certain number, including humidex, yes there should be a mid half break.

Second, no coaches or subs near the players. Officials bring on the water. I said this right in the beginning. Football does not have mid half direct coaching. It should be respected.

Overall Bielsa is right. Football is a game of 2 halves, not 4 quarters. That too shouldve been respected..

But none of this will happen.
This is purely for the sponsors to get ad breaks - just like in all other north America sports.
The global game has not been respected here - its all about the money.
