Anyone wondering why we don’t win big games might understand now. First half penalty, arguably red card. No, just a normal coming together. Nmecha booked for similar but less. Clear penalty second half, ref tried not to give it. 11 minutes of extra time. Do our best to throw it away in extra time. No one can explain the 11 minutes. 9,000 fans deserved that victory. WHU fans leaving the stadium and trying to get back in really didn’t. Cracking game for neutrals I expect. Nerve wracking for lufc fans. Winning a big game. Winning a big game on penalties. Just wow #lufc As a side note Leeds back at Wembley has a real hollow ring to it. It’s a semi not the final. Back at Wembley means the final to me. The FA has undermined the FA cup for years but it still produces the best football as teams go toe to toe rather than playing safe. Oh, and Beckford. Stop purring about the opposition. Over 120 minutes the best team won beating an established EPL.

Genuinely when was the last time Ampadu had a good game?
Feels like he's been poor for a while.

Just a shame semis are not at Villa Park/Old Toilet anymore, as it kinda takes away the achievement of making the final

Wouldn’t put it past the BBC to show the whole 1970 replay, after 9pm of course.

when I saw the lineup I said extra time and penalties because Farke knew that it would tire West Ham out for their Friday game against wolves which they will loose. it was all a cunning plan by a genius tacticianOrange Box wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2026 5:39 pm Let’s look on the bright side. Extra 30 minutes for them then they play Wolves on Friday. They’ll be knackered. DF masterstroke.

I don't know how anyone (including the commentary team) could watch that tackle on Stach and not see serious foul play. OK Stach got there first but it was still a bad tackle and would have been a FK anywhere else on the pitch and a red seriously considered1964white wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2026 7:10 pm Anyone wondering why we don’t win big games might understand now. There has to be impartiality with VAR, but we seemed to get excuses not to give it. The Aaronson one was a nailed on pen too. The foot way too high for their equalizer.. The they won't discount this because the fans would go wild is not a good enough reason not to give the foul...
But in the end we won and you know what? West Ham just played for 3 hours (basically 2 games) and they have a big game in 6 days they'll have to get themselves up for. Could that be more perfect?

Indeed, was only puzzled as to why we didn't give Bowen a good kicking!

At least some of our players have Wembley experience now, unlike 2 years ago

Re: West Ham vs Leeds United Match Thread
The thing is as well that they have decided this season that it doesn't matter about what happens to the ball - as shown when Gnonto was fouled v Liverpool and we got the penalty despite the ball going out of play and Gnonto not being in a position where he would have been able to get to it even if he wasn't fouled. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2026 7:19 pm I don't know how anyone (including the commentary team) could watch that tackle on Stach and not see serious foul play. It wasn't like it was a block that was in front of the player so the defender iscoming at the ball from the other side and it is momentum taking you through after missing the ball.
The only way for me the penalty shouldn't have been given is if the ball had gone into the net (and the ref hadn't blown the whistle before it went in).

Anyone know why no Dan James today? I thought DCL was the only doubt.... type of player that could win that against a tiring team
