Tiz the conundrum.
He needs game time to improve.
If he isn't doing enough in his game time we aren't in a position to give him starts.

I still insist it was striker's goal, sublime cross from James.
We have a bowler called Woolley, Jill calls him "Woolley by name, Woolley in mind & by nature", because he is too slow to react. Lovely bloke though!

Anyway, I have to post this clip for Dan James's goal alone.

Agree, Joseph should have pounced and made the ball his. Vardy would have buried it.

I thought the same with Tanaka. Thought there were a few off moments. But everyone was heaping praise on him at the end of the game. I do think he finished the game really well. But I did think he had a few moments.1964white wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 8:13 am Very enjoyable game Jammy. maybe that result that will shut up some of the negative claptrap on here, well at least until we lose again!
I said to my mate on the journey to ER, we'll win 3-1, he replied f**k off. I felt great joy asking him what was his reaction to my score prediction after the game.![]()
Agree with your comments, although Tanaka had a couple of wild moments. Losing possession in a dangerous position with hardly any cover behind him, he got lucky there, then the shot that almost hit the corner flag.![]()
You can tell me after the replay. I thought that wild shot took a deflection. But just my impression on one viewing.

The striker responses are becoming very polarizing and exaggerated. There was frustration at Joseph yesterday because he seems to be continually missing (slim) chances, not getting into great positions. I've watched him play quite a bit at reserve level. and think he is a terrific talent. But he just needs to take an extra step to earn his first team place. And a couple of goals to win over the fans.DDB220 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 8:14 am Was in Birmingham on a works do last night. Followed the match on BBC sport.
Great result. I will watch the game when I get home later this afternoon.
Not sure why Joseph has suddenly turned into a villain, lots of negative posts about him suddenly not been good enough.
I have only seen limited highlights on YT.
He may have just had a bad night, it happens. We know he can finish - really surprised so many people are writing him off all of a sudden. I still think he has huge potential. By no means the finished article, he will probably learn a lot from this game when he analyses his movement in the box.
Same extremes with Piroe. But yesterday he came off to praise.

Farke seems to be intentionally resting Piroe for 1 game in a 3 game week

Well with his limited wardrobe, stubborn refusal to either use a proper barber or get one of Aaronson's Alice bands and ridiculous straight answers to straight questions the 49rs (and some fans) must be wearing the biggest blinkers going

Tricky turn around and early KO at Preston on Saturday. Thinking Farke might be tempted to get Ampadu into the starting line up. Will obviously depend on his ability to go 60-plus minutesDDB220 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 9:58 am I do not get hyped up by any player who has a good game. It is all about maintaining a performance level of consistency over a sustained period for me.
So much talk about Amps not getting back in the team on line. Folk soon forget how he has been a model of consistency before his injury. He is a shoe in as a starter when fully fit.
As good as Rothwell and Tanaka have proven to be - this just outlines our depth and squad balance this season. Which is what we missed last season.
Rothwell is a very astute loan signing and is playing out of his skin as he may see a permanent contract opportunity.
Rothwell has really won us over. Saw some great things in preseason, but then a slow start. I thought he was all about dribbles and set piece deliveries. But his game has proved to be much more than that. He's been a real energetic midfield engine.

Best you read the match thread comments and understand perspective.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 3:43 pm The striker responses are becoming very polarizing and exaggerated. Not sure what you mean. I read every one of them
Just trying to say people get a bit carried away with all 3 of our attackers. Most seem to be completely against one and completely for another. Personally, I praise all three and knock all three as I see they deserve it. But too many seem to have this continuous agenda of one is useless and another is the undoubted answer.

Ampedu looked a little rusty when coming on last night in my opinion plus Rothwell, Tanaka & Aaronson have earn't the right to keep the shirt for now.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 3:54 pm Tricky turn around and early KO at Preston on Saturday. Re: Leeds Utd v Middlesbrough Match Thread
Double negative, I guess they all have. I think they all done earnt their place. But Aaronson is the most enigmatic. Farke never subs him early. He's always a late sub. Seems to say we can't function without him. Either that or that he just has the best natural fitness to run for 90 minutes.
But I think there will be a temptation to rush back Ampadu. He offers so much more to us in terms of captaincy and making our back line, and attacking wing backs, work. Tricky game coming up against Preston. You'd normally give Ampadu until the week after. But I can see it being a temptation to get him back sooner.

I know that secretly you are hankering for me to slip in a sneaky innuendo. You'd really love me to give you one but I am not going to bend over backwards trying to please you.

Re: Leeds Utd v Middlesbrough Match Thread
I would really be surprised if Farke changes the midfield to allow Amps to start next match. If we can get into a winning position and are comfortable then he may bring him on and build up a bit more game fitness.
A lot will depend on what Farke see`s in training and whether or not Amps is properly ready to start a game. If he is not 100% ready he wont start him. We dont want to risk Amp`s being out again for another period of time, even though the players that came in have done a very good job.
