They created a couple of half chances - we defended well for the most part.
I'm not sure about the penalty. The ball was going the opposite way and it looked like James threw himself over the leg. It could have been a penalty. But it all looked a bit weird. The ball was behind the direction he was falling. He should have been turning back the other way rather than falling over the leg. Just my read and maybe that's what the referee saw.

I thought that was Kamara's best game in quite a while. He was effective at both ends of the pitch.

Agreed, Andrew. Some really nice link-up play today.

I'm so glad he didn't, he's a little greedy twat that Jimmy, give him some of his own medicine, he could lay off some wonderful balls at times but continually wants to get it on his right and shoot, experience that, lack of.

What did I say would happen without Bamford?

I agree, it was pretty comfortable and deserved with the points you've already made. I must admit though, we were very ordinary when Plymouth made their change of tac at h/t, and it was they that pushed us back, and not us taking the foot off, it worried me how they did it so easily, a bit of a wake up call.

I’ll try and keep quiet :)

He truly is a 9.5…a replacement for both Rutter and Bamford. But plays more effectively as a 10 when playing with either of them. But Piroe played more as a 9 last match. I empathize with Farke on the Piroe situation as I’m sure he finds him to be a conundrum.

weasel wrote: Sat Feb 17, 2024 2:49 pm Spot on. I though Rutter had a mare in terms of losing possession in the 10 role and putting us under pressure. Great pass to Gnonto and took his goal well but you can see why Farke had him and Piroe the other way round earlier in the season. Can't keep losing the ball today like he did especially if it is around the centre circle.
:) 8-) ;-)

My post immediately after the game.

Farke spotted the problem moving Piroe into the No.10 role & pushing Rutter forward who continuously lost possession putting us on the back foot

Georginio went from villain to hero.

SKY having a laugh, giving the man of the match to Rutter.

Gnonto was our best forward.

Summerville had a stinker.

I think many are in agreement on this. Piroe is a puzzle. Just doesn’t seem to be the ideal fit for Farke’s system…which is why a fit Paddy is first choice for us.
