IMO.....if he keeps us up, which in our situation must be as tough a job as any new manager has taken on then he deserves the job longer term and dependant on the manner of our relegation he may do enough to deserve a shot at getting us back up.
I agree, but, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the board have already got someone in mind, one of those that couldn't / wouldn't leave their respective positions / or take over until the summer, hence a temp contract, I'm also assuming the board have told him this if it's the case, but who knows with our lot.
Just hope 'the white smoke over beeston' has cleared for us to win tomorrow.

I'd keep him either way.
I think it's kind of shameful of the board to say it's a "flexible contract." Like we're just waiting to get someone better. Admittedly he never stays at a club for too long. But give him the full vote of confidence at least.
Gracia's here - feelings?
I feel really well. Very happy because when I cam I could feel all the people in the club, around the club, really needing a good result. today is good for the confidence of all of us. Important step
Game plan?
We knew Southampton, in the last game, was really solid, well organised and today we knew it would be a tough game. Close game. Prepared as well as possible trying to be solid, compact, waiting for our moments and we did that. The players did their job.
Full-backs?
Found a good balance in keeping a clean sheet. Creating chances. Nobody created many chances, but it was the game we wanted. result was good for us.
Firpo?
You never know what is going to happen. We had a good chance to win and we took it.
Cooper and Struijk?
Injured. Don't know how long, but they have not trained with the team.
Koch?
Both centre-backs played really well today. Big challenge. Tall player. All the defensive line was very concentrated. We got a good clean sheet
What do you want to see improve?
I am very optimistic because if we play like this after one day, next week we will play much, much better.
Home form?
We have to be very strong playing at home. IF we want to achieve our target, we need it and I hope the supporters will be with us because we really need them.
How much easier does this make the coming weeks for you as you settle?
Good for players' confidence in the work we are going to do together. We know it's only one win, but it's something that's special for us. Another competition next week too. Good for us
Well done that man - nowt fancy, just does what it says on the tin win today, job done and in a good fashion too.
Early days and i hope to fck i don't put the mockers on him ,but i've got good vibes and good first impressions about him and his manner, i hope i'm right.

Glad to hear none of that "free hit" nonsense so many like to spout. About time we started believing we can win these games.
We have the athleticism and enthusiasm to beat bottom 7 teams. Top 5 clinical will punish us late. We need more control in the midfield. As much as I love McKennie as an american homer,,,,he is not the answer in the midfield for that roll, and aaronson needs to understand when to push and when to retreat. This was not his roll with either the Philly Union nor Salzurg. He was go at all times. Not sure that works in a league that is hyper go and hyper clinical at all times. He needs EPL maturity. It will come...but will take time.

Just thinking by all accounts Javi Gracia was very calm on the sidelines today.
Celebrated the goal and gave instructions but was largely calm.
Jesse was at times absolutely manic and even yelled things like "scared" .
Always felt his showmanship on the sidelines did more harm than good.
How can players have faith if they see there manager almost deranged on the sidelines?
There is of course a time for passion and yelling.
But sometimes you need a cool head to radiate calmness.
Javi seems to do that
Marsch was the opposite.
If you as a player look across and see your manager going loopy then it's going to cause you to force things that aren't on.
Whereas if you see a calm manager (even though inside he may be less than calm) surely that give calmness to the players?
100% agree. Hated Marsch's antics, same as I hate the way Arteta does it too - albeit Arteta seems to do it more to wind the opposition players up and put pressure on the officials whereas all I felt Marsch ended up doing was putting more pressure on our players. As a player you want to be playing your natural game, not be having a raving lunatic on the sidelines.
I love leeds united, may Inever admit to it.

'Radiate calmness' - Yeah i'll go with that, his whole persona has come across well from what i've seen, know nowt about him and can't really be arsed to go looking, i'll judge him from hereon in.
Great start which i'm hoping can only get better and prove Weasel right in getting a new manager in just enough time to sort these players out into a team, some good signs yesterday, and i hope you're right again in getting good enough to get the points required against the lesser clubs.
I don't think Gnonto's gonna fit into his plans as much as Sinisterra and Rutter eventually will, be interesting going forward what he decides is his best going forward, i can see Willy ending up on the bench and sulking.
Summerville is starting to strike me as not a starter but better as an impact player from the bench with 20-25 to go, Willy might end up the same with Javi, then there's Rodrigo to come back.
I'm looking forward to what he does and whether we can play some football again or not, but for now the reality is - survival first.

Nice to have options but would have thought when you have a talent like Gnonto you find a way to allow him to sing.
Those of you who see the team week in, week out, tactically, what was different? The main thing I noticed from my armchair highlights was that Ayling and Firpo were pressing really high up.
Much as I love Summerville, he really needs to play the team game - that shot where he should have crossed for Jack to put it into the net was really dreadful play.
