Bath is a lovely city but the trouble is if you go with the good lady wife you get dragged around all the shops…….and the whole retail therapy thing isn’t really for me

I’ve only ever been to the races on three occasions, Foxy. Two of those of those times it was Chepstow and the third was at Garrison Savannah (below) whilst on hols

Did see a game of egg chasing at The Rec a couple of years ago, Bath v Cardiff Blues. Although it was an evening game and having been on the sauce all day my memory of it is somewhat hazy

If you are handing out 1.2 million visas per year creating a net migration of 300000+ per annum (and that is not counting an estimated 60000+ illegal immigrants coming in this year alone) then pressure on the countryside and protected land is inevitable.

We are already have a population density 2.5 times greater than France and yet Governments over the last 50 years (accelerated over the last 20 years from Blair onwards) have and are encouraging more and more immigration.

I wonder why there is a housing shortage, why the NHS are in permanent crisis and the Police have almost given up on real crime.

Unfortunately, the electorate of this country cannot see beyond the 2 main parties and neither the Conservatives or Labour have the will or the ability to tackle this problem. There is no chance of any of the smaller fringe parties, some of whom do have the desire to do something about it, ever getting anywhere near power in this 2 party state (1 party state actually, because there really is no difference between the 2), so it looks as though it will just continue unabated for the foreseeable future, eating up greenfield sites with ticky-tacky, featureless, soulless housing developments, vast ugly solar farms and monstrous triffid-like wind turbines until there is no countryside left to enjoy.

I’m kind of glad that I’m 65 and not 25.

Depressing reading.
Still believe there’s so much more that can be done on a small scale. A personal scale. Stop pulling out hedges. Stop using godforsaken fake grass. Stop installing fecking gravel gardens. Leave some of garden to go a bit wild. Stop being a lazy twat.
Humans are idiots but nature will have the last laugh when we’ve all f..ked off & killed each other it’ll come back serenely and take over

And overcharging water companies who waste incredible amounts by not fixing leaks for weeks and pump sewage in to sea & river.
