I don't know, Swannie :duno:

The ones we've signed from Chelsea have been flops, or in Bate's case, nowhere near ready :(

Let's face it, Chelsea aren't going to do Leeds any favours.

Southampton have signed defender Armel Bella-Kotchap from Bochum for about 10m euros (£8.6m).

The 20-year-old, who has signed a four-year contract, played 74 times for the Bundesliga club.

He made 26 appearances as he helped Bochum win Bundesliga 2 and promotion to the German top flight in 2021.

Southampton apparently want £75mil for James Ward Prowse . . . .

Sounds like nonsense?

Well they wanted £50mil last summer backed up by The Athletic and he has signed a new contract since then.

£42mil for Kalvin Phillips ladies and gents . . . . .
Signed

I thought he was a left back or am I thinking of someone else?
I’m sure he played as a wing back during the Europa League campaign.
If it was him, I was quite impressed and for 6m might’ve been worth a punt.

Haven't seen Rangers play of late, so Aribo is unknown to me, Finn

Just checked, he's a forward & scored 18 goals in 90+ appearances for the Scottish club.

Aah yes, Bassey was linked with a move away from Rangers.

Another team destined for our mini league, the Saints losing 3-1 to one of Jesse's ex-clubs RB Leipzig.

Was reading about him today. A very versatile player who could drop into the midfield as well. Lee Bowyer was critical of Aribo when he left England to go north saying it was a backward step in his career.
Looks a handy buy for the Saints now.

Southampton are an interesting one for me this season. Could be a contender for the drop this next year as they've really flattered to deceive these past couple of seasons. Will be interesting to see if Gyabi comes up against Lavia in a game and to see if we got the right one.

Will be interesting to see if Ward-Prowse remains a Saints player, also Broja gone back to Chelsea, that's 20 of their goals gone from last season if WP moves on.

Southampton have made a sixth signing of the summer by bringing in striker Sekou Mara from French club Bordeaux.

The 19-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Premier League club.

Mara scored six goals in 26 league games last season as Bordeaux finished bottom of the French top flight.

Amusing one poster posts his team then another reminds him two of the players are no longer at Southampton
