I do believe he says its ridiculous that he is being compared to MB.
And even with MB at other clubs..and then with us back in the Championship..there has always been a question of overtraining and burnout.
And i for one 100% agree with that assessment.

The question was how was he being received... he didn't need to mention Bielsa at all, it wasn't in the question ... He reminds me a bit of Christiansen tbh... personality wise...

Dont see an issue with what he said. Fans wanted answers to the injury issues, he gave an answer and now they arent happy!

They won't be Adam, because he isn't Marcelo Bielsa.

Jesse is his own man & he's doing a fine job, even if some on here are not happy with him.

Should he be giving interviews like this that will only cause criticism of a predecessor? Maybe maybe not.

That being said, the content of the interview is by no means a surprise regarding injuries and what not

Honestly MB overtraining players is a surprise to nobody (although many of our fans will get the hump).

And overtraining causes injuries.

Not a shock at all.

It was evident (and obvious to some) in our first pre-season game at Ewood Park, that the players hadn't recovered properly. They could still run for 90 minutes but lacked that change of pace where you go from jogging to sprinting for the ball.

Not really sure why his (short) time at RB Leipzig is continually referred to as a failure or have I missed something? His first game was on Aug 15 and his last on Dec 3 and he won 5, drew 3 and lost 6 in the league. Among the wins were a 6-0, 4-0, 4-1 and 3-0 and the only heavy defeat was a 1-4 v Bayern Munich. I'd take a start like that at this point for next season all day long.

Did they lose 10-0 in the Champions League or something? Baffled.

Exactly this, I couldn’t listen to post match interviews or press conferences and I think a lot of the nuances of what he said were often lost in translation.

There does seem to be a section of fans and I’m not talking about those just on this forum, who will long bemoan the loss of Bielsa and seem more a fan of his than of the club itself. I might not always agree with decisions but my support is always with the team and the club over the various characters that come and go over the years.

I think he gave honest answers to questions asked. No new manager slags off the previous guy, no matter how much they want to, but it seems to me Marsch is saying how it is. The only question in my mind is why the club feels he needs to be on Talk Sport in the first place.

That is my point, he seems to be everywhere at the moment, BBC, Skysports, The Athletic, now even bloody Talksport.

I just get the feeling he will be too close to these journalists who will draw out of him negativity towards his team.

With you all the way. I've been very happy with JM thus far and even happier with the results. Yes I expect a footballing lesson between now and the end of the season from one of the top 6 but so do the other 14 teams in the league every time they face them. It won't be unexpected but I think now the lads are enjoying themselves again and a certain few appear different players, I think we might just spring the odd surprise result.
