Yeah, Kev is a strange one mate :)

I was really lucky in that the first gig I attended was in 1979 at Carlisle Market Hall, when I'd just turned 17. Place was absolutely jammed.

Dexy's opened and were absolutely fantastic, with Kev and his mannerisms, the black wooly hats, donkey jackets and the horns blowing. Doesn't get much better than that to be your first live band.

Next up was The Selecter, I was in love with Pauline Black, still am. Selecter were brilliant, danced my guts out.

Top of the bill was The Specials, stunning performance, Terry Hall is a fooking legend. I'm sure Message To Rudy went to number one on the day of that gig.

All of that for 3 squid

Still one of my most fondly remembered gigs

Cracking album, Too Ry Aye not so much but Don't Stand Me Down was a return to form with the likes of The Occasional Flicker, This Is What She Likes on it

Come On Eileen was enough to put me off the Dexys. Geno was an excellent song.

I preferred their 2012 album 'One Day I'm Going to Soar' which was completely different.

Mate of mine at school was crazy about Pink Floyd's Dark Side OF The Moon, he got Wish You Were Here as soon as it came out and was so disappointed with it he smashed it over his knee :)

I could have told him it would be shite without needing to damage his ears, or his knee ;-)

Strange as I loved WYWH, played it for months when it was initially released in '75

Big fan of their works up to the mid 70s

Never liked anything they've done Leon, Another Brick In The Wall is the equivalent of Come On Eileen for me :(
