Incredible mate, I was delighted he missed. TosserYorkshireSquare wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 5:45 pm Mings shouldn't be anywhere near this England squad!
Thought Henderson was in this squad for his leaderhip? Taking that penalty off Calvert-Lewin was just selfish!

This is such a talented squad but the football is awful, must be a better English coach out there than Southgate?
Graham Potter is always someone I've thought has had the mark of Bielsa tactically over the last three seasons.

Even the commentator mentioned "a group of Leeds fans chanting Patrick Bamford every time Watkins touched the ball

Romania were the better side. England lucky with a dodgy penalty.

Middlesbrough have had 34 permanent managers.YorkshireSquare wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 5:52 pm This is such a talented squad but the football is awful, must be a better English coach out there than Southgate?

Southgate has the 6th lowest win percentage and got them relegated.
The fact he ever got the England job after title winning managers like Capello, Sven, Robson etc is disgraceful.

Southgate has picked a team of invalids I don't expect England to do well in the Euros.
his brain must be frazzled picking four right backs and strikers and wingers that have no form.
he has cooked up a disaster soup, nobody likes the taste of it

Just caught up... Awful performance with Kalvin easily the best player on the pitch. Grealish is a lovely footballer but he is a complete cheat. His dive wins us a game we didn't deserve to.
On another note the England right back was an absolute pile of garbage, Luke Ayling is much better, Cody Drameh probably is too.
Rashford lacks Harrison's first touch

I doubt those three even crossed his mind, you need to play for the fashionable & his favourite clubs to qualify for selection. It must have been galling for Gareth having to pick Kalvin.

Re: Today's Games - England v Romania
Awful spectacle at the USA - Mexico CONCACAF Nations' League final last night.
Game was played in Denver, Colorado and the crowd was split pretty evenly between Mexican and American fans. Very tight game between two nations that are bitter rivals. The US won in overtime when substitute goalkeeper Ethan Horvath stopped a 118th minute Andres Guardado penalty. Great game, sloppy at times, and Gio Reyna and Christian Pulisic established themselves as truly class.
But tempers really started to flare on the field and the fans - the Mexican fans in particular - started getting ugly. The verbal abuse, cups, and water bottles hurled at the American players was getting out of control. At one point the game had to be halted and the public address announcer had to warn that, if the Mexican fans did not immediately cease their homophobic chants, the game would be suspended and concluded the next day with no fans in attendance.
When Pulisic buried a penalty in the 114th minute to put the US ahead 3-2 (in a game where they had trailed both 0-1 and 1-2), he tore off his shirt and ran to celebrate in front of a large contingent of Mexican fans. The cups and bottles started raining down and one bottle hit Gio Reyna in the head. Later, a couple of minutes after Horvath's brilliant save (his third of the night), Pulisic was hacked down and, when he didn't get up right away, Mexican players started grabbing him and pulling him off the ground. This happened along the sideline in front of the same group of Mexican fans, and the cups and bottles started flying again. This time one of the bottles - a full water bottle - caught one of the Mexican players flush in the face.
The US and Mexico will likely square off again in the CONCACAF Gold Cup and twice in World Cup qualifying. This could get really ugly.
The US has firepower up front with Reyna, Pulisic, and Weston McKennie, but if they don't get someone to play alongside John Brooks in the defensive middle they will continue to concede a lot of goals.
