It was toss of a coin really. I'm hugely fond of both albums. Olafur is an Icelandic composer and most of his stuff has a contemporary classical/ambient feel. This is his best record, in my opinion.

Well, I hate to nominate old time bands from my misspent youth that keep chugging along but I'm going to do it anyway:

Superchunk 'Majesty Shredding'

Left them for dead after 'Cup of Sand' but this record is lovely. I didn't pick it up until around 2012 when a friend and fellow fan suggested I should check it out. Glad I did. Every song is worthwhile.

Enjoyed the Midlake - think I'd heard it before a while ago, but I'd forgotten about it.

It took me seven or eight listens to really appreciate the album when it was initially released a real grower, now it's one of my favourite albums of the noughties.

'The Trials Of Van Occupanther' is their most popular album, a more accessible listen.
