Yes... if you listen to the HM Trio stuff you hear quite a bit of Zappa, Crimson, Sabbath, and Miles, obviously, which she acknowledges as influences. The thing that's got me excited about it is that it also goes into post-rock noise/ soundscape territory, whilst still being essentially jazz, with all the complexity and freedom which that implies.

One of the things that's put me off listening to jazz over the years is that I just don't like the sounds and the tones, whereas this is the kind of guitar playing I love, but taken in new (to me) directions.

I know I tend to obsess over new discoveries, but I think she will be my favourite guitarist for a long time to come, now. Can't stop listening to it.

I need a bit of time to do it full justice so holding off for a bit as it's chaos here atm and nothing to do with Christmas.
