Paolo Rossi has died aged just 64 . His goals single handedly won Italy the World Cup in 1982 including that incredible hat trick against the brilliant Brazilian side .

Great striker, I watched that 82 tournament and he was brilliant.
The Italy v Brazil and Brazil v Argentina games were very good

This is very sad news, indeed.
To call him a mystery, thriller, or spy novelist was to do him a disservice. He was simply a great writer. No other modern writer quite captured the zeitgeist as well as he did. I read everything he ever wrote.
Brilliant writer.
