Yeah, it's pretty obvious Pablo was dropped. Don't see him getting back in now sadly. Hopefully Gelhardt is given a chance instead of Roberts.

Down to Pablo’s reaction on Monday?

Trouble at mill?

Certainly didn't do himself any favours with his reaction on Monday. Can understand why he was frustrated but it came as a bit of a shock from one of our more senior players. I get the impression that reactions like that really aren't tolerated by Bielsa.

Also think Pablo has been off the boil and didn't perform well at Leicester.

Almost certain the biggest reason is that reaction though. Jenkins on the bench for us is a CM (who I've never heard talked about as a player around the first team), fair play he will have earned his spot but nobody would argue that he possesses better quality than Pablo at this stage (even with Pablo out of form).

Could be a number of thing's... Pablo also ripped his arm band off and threw it away...not gone down well with some veterans groups, and I have to say I was none to pleased with that show of petulance...

Its concerning.

Bielsa if you upset Bielsa he isnt against simply dropping you no matter who you are.

I hope they work it out because we need Pablo.

It was the wrong call, MB got that wrong imo but Pablo shouldn't question his authority but then again MB could handle it better, man management

There's no doubt that Pablo not making the bench while fit had to be disciplinary. It's not a Jenkins thing. He plays midfield, Pablo doesn't. Jenkins was on the bench for Shackleton, as cover for Strujik or Klich.

You absolutely know though, that other than an internal issue, Pablo would have made the bench. We had plenty of defensive cover - Ayling and Strujik both on the pitch. If he wanted Pablo on the bench he could have left out one of Davis, Casey, or Jenkins.

All said, I hope it's resolved quickly. Pablo is always worth 30 to 45 minutes.

Hopefully he has just done it to give Pablo a kick up the arse, rather than this being the start of a grudge he will hold for the next few months.

Either way it just firmly reiterates who's boss. Nobody is above getting dropped.

Jenkins' inclusion sends an excellent message out to the youngsters - train hard and you will get your chance.

I thought throwing the black armband was disgusting tbh. No idea if he's apologised or not.

Maybe so, but what has Roberts done to justify his continued selection?

I think a lot of it is about effort for Bielsa.

He makes an initial decision of whether you're 'good enough,' if so you're in the squad and if not you're out.

After that, selection seems 100% based on attitude and effort.

Roberts must be showing something, my guess is that he works hard enough in training to inspire Bielsa's confidence in him.

Hopefully Pablo apologised, if he reacts badly MB would drop him for good and not give a second thought.

Dont want a modern day legend to go out like this.

Understand MB felt he needed to stamp his authority but with Rodders and Shacks out to it was a bit of cutting your nose off to spite your face.

Does what he is told and trains hard.

That is what MB values

How many times have we seen players go through prolonged periods of poor form and never be dropped?

Aslong as you are like a robot MB will pick you.

Style is everything, do as your told and you are safe regardless of actual contribution.

I wasn't too enamoured with Pablo on Monday but for what it is worth, he was still our best way back into the game -- and he knew that too!

But if today was his punishment then I hope that is that.

Bielsa demands blood from his players, Pablos gives it week in week out, he has a role to play in this squad.
'
"Football is about the people and the players,” he said. “Then there are those who will mingle in the middle: the coaches, executives and journalists. That last group represents the worst part about football" Marcelo Bielsa

Just a theory but maybe Pablo was showing frustration with MB but was more his own performance and the result at the time.

He is Spanish, bit of a fiery temper traditionally.

Thats the whole picture she refers to, it was a collection of frustrations more than him trying to undermine the boss but MB didnt accept that?

You might get away with it in the Championship, but there's no hiding place in the PL.

I've got to agree with SG90 here, even if Roberts is great in training he repeatedly fails to carry it onto the pitch when it matters on a Saturday.

I don't want to pan the guy here because he has shown glimpses on occasion, but nothing to justify his continued inclusion - I caught myself saying "nooooo" out loud today when I saw him taking the warm-up top off.

Why not Poveda from the options available? Can't see what Marcelo does I'm afraid

I must admit, I don't actually.

She has 5k followers though and plenty that I follow do. She mostly tweets about her brother to be fair and I only like golf as much as the next guy.

I didn't know that part - assuming Sergio Garcia?
