Just maybe the so called big 6 should just piss off and form their own league . Play each other 3 times at home, 3 times away , giving 30 games each......fans of those clubs would soon get bored of the same opposition almost week in week out . Those clubs just deserve each other . The fact that of 18 clubs they want , only 9 would be allowed an opinion is disgusting . Is this the vision they have for football , serve em right if their fans desert them .
You can understand that football needs to look at itself and how it is run etc , but this is a greedy attempt at power grabbing by the already corrupt and greedy .

When you dig deeper its full of self interest, bribery and corruption.
"Support our plans Spurs and we will give you tons of cash for that Stadium.

Everton as well planning to build another new stadium.

Another club in the group of privilege.

And of course Liverpool themselves would benefit given they are planning to expand Anfield.

A plan to dilute the value of the main tv deal by giving clubs the ability to stream 8 of their own fixtures a season, give the bigger clubs more money that.

Parry apparently urging the top 6 to leave the EPL and start a new league under the EFL Banner if the vote is defeated.
As has been said, these proposals are good for the stock exchange, they arent about whats best for football.

Its no coincidence this is being pushed by American Sport owners imo, hence why i want the 49ers out.

Thing is, as disturbing as these potential changes are, can football fans themselves cope with a devolution of football? Could supporters even contemplate a more grassroots existence, without live TV, without expensive players, without all the luxuries and trappings of the modern game?

If the only choice was between this and going back to jumpers for goalposts, what would you choose?

Great post Clacton... If you look at the history of Ice Hockey, the formation of the NHL... back in the day the original league was 6 teams, for the longest time, almost every player in the league played for every team at some point, the amount of control the owners had meant they could just move players to best suit revenue's...Player's got a pittance and no say what so ever in their careers... It took a long time but eventually they had to move on...

Also it is no surprise to me that the Fenway group are leading this,...in another thread some of us discussed at length the use of "stat's"... When Billy Bean and his Harvard economics grad introduced Baseball to "moneyball" at the conclusion of the season the owner of the Boston Red Sox approached Billy Bean and offered him the higehst salary ever in baseball to leave the "A's and move to Boston...12.5 Mill a season (that was in 2002)

Correct smudge, the Sox pivoted to this way of thinking. But John Henry and gang are professional sports owners , with little or no view on local pride and their value to the towns and cities in England. I will say that Boston fans , being one myself, are hardcore and he did come in with background on how the community and team are connected. But as I said before any business sees an opportunity to enrich itself , and the current C19 crisis is one they feel thet can take advantage. The Fenway group has lost a lot of respect from myself.

It's possible I'm overreacting massively but the more I think about the proposal, the more apoplectic I feel about it. I'm all in agreement of dividing football's money up more fairly and helping lower tier football, but the way this is proposed is akin to bribery. And I wouldn't trust the big 6 to renege on the deal as soon as they get what they want.

Just when I thought football couldn't get much worse with the ruination of the expanded Euros and World Cups and this BS third European club competition (Conference League).

Thankfully the majority of fans and pundits thinks this is a kamikaze move and you would hope the clubs outside the big six in the Prem every season would also be smart enough to shut down projects like this IMMEDIATELY

EFL clubs could 'disappear within five to six weeks' - Leyton Orient chairman
Some EFL clubs will "disappear within five to six weeks" unless they get financial support, says Nigel Travis, chairman of League Two Leyton Orient. He also said 'Project Big Picture' - a plan by Liverpool and Manchester United to reform the English football pyramid - was a "great proposal"
Here we go...

Premier League: Radical reform plans in the best interest of clubs, says Rick Parry
English Football League chairman Rick Parry has praised Liverpool and Manchester United for coming up with a plan he believes can protect the English football pyramid.
travelling supporters
Never saw this prick standing up and thanking Leeds United fans on promotion for the last 16 years... How many times did Leeds play games (especially in League one where we took more travelling fans than the home team had...Championship, home teams were always guarenteed at least 3 to 4 000 fans from Leeds... some reform is needed for sure, but a lot of owners need to smarten up as well... No one knows it better than we do ... And Radz got us back, without parachute payments.
"This is two of our great clubs showing leadership and exercising responsibility," said Parry. "The message from Liverpool and Manchester United is that they do genuinely care about the pyramid.
:rol:
Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden told BBC Breakfast on Monday: "Now is not the right time. The challenge facing football is ensuring particularly the EFL has the resources to enable its clubs to survive. This deal does not command support throughout the Premier League at all.

It is definately recieving stiff opposition... Good to see

Project Big Picture: 'Breakaway league' threatened, says Football Association chairman
Football Association chairman Greg Clarke withdrew from discussions concerning Project Big Picture
“With the knowledge of senior board members and our CEO, I participated in the early stages of discussions.
“However, when the principal aim of these discussions became the concentration of power and wealth in the hands of a few clubs with a breakaway league mooted as a threat, I discontinued my involvement and counselled a more consensus-based approach involving all Premier League clubs.
Fan groups of the ‘big six’ teams - Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham - have criticised the plans
Clarke said discussions should continue, adding: “We, the FA board and council, have to ensure any changes would be to the long-term benefit of the whole of football

Good to see the majority of Liddyscum fans are as horrified as most of us are.

Tbf Manure fans knew what the Glazers were all about, taken a while but FSG showing their true colours now, started when they tried to Furlough staff.

Who'd have thought 2 American venture capitalist firms would be out for themselves?

And i repeat, we are part owned by another.

11% only ...Radz well in control ... and they cannot force him to sell anymore

PS... Thinking about it, it was only a week or two before the "big 6" proposal broke that the '49er's were making some noise about wanting to be a bigger part of the club...mmmmm maybe Radz was already onto them...

But you all think QVC would be against this? At least in America that's how sport works..Franchise leagues with no promotion or relegation. Wonder if this does go ahead if we start to see the American thing for uprooting teams and moving locations..
