O/T The Music Discussion Thread
So after a 20 year hiatus I get the email on Thursday to say my copy of the new Pink Floyd album is in the post. Friday's post comes. Saturday's post comes. Alas no Endless River.
BluRay is the format of choice for me nowadays. Much as I love vinyl the detail of BluRay now matches it, at least for my relatively unsophisticated ears and in the right hands (Steven Wilson and Andy Jackson come to mind) surround mixes can be like listening to a classic album for the first time all over again.
The plan was then, that as soon as the album arrived I'd fire up the surround system, shut my eyes, and have a proper first listen.
Sadly on Monday the time came for me to dismantle the entire living room for the carpet fitters to come today. Of course the moment the system is truly separates the postman knocks on the door...
First job today then once the carpet is down is to get the AV back up and running. Last of the million cables to get plugged in is the optical cable for the BluRay player to the amp, at which point I discover one end has been damaged and is unusable.
Gutted. Trip to Currys first thing...

Sad to think that Nancy and the rest of these love nymphs will be well into their seventies and dried up now

O/T The Music Discussion Thread
AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd was arrested, and later released, in New Zealand this week on suspicion of attempting to solicit murder.
Sales of the band's "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" album have spiked this week.
Rock fans have a warped sense of humour.

always liked Tony Banks, but he came across as a right arse recently on that Genesis documentary. He really still seems to resent Pete Gabriel for leaving the set up.Gandalf wrote:Former Genesis keyboards player Tony Banks is making a bit of a name for himself in the Classical world, and I must admit that this is rather good.

Question: How does one make Jon Anderson sound like a baritone?
Answer:
One of the most remarkable voices I have ever seen in the 'popular' setting.
