Well no I can't, it's an individual position and basic skills specific to a goalkeeper. I might be in a minority but assuming Man City’s appeal isn’t upheld, I think they’ll throw the book at them. I didn’t used to think that but the report was so damning and the scale of the cheating so massive I don’t see how the PL can avoid doing this without losing all credibility. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2026 12:51 pm You assume they will be. I'll believe it when I see it.. transfer ban for two seasons, maybe 20 points?
It’s going to be a very strange season until the punishment is handed down. Good as City were yesterday, scoring some fantastic goals, the game will probably end up being totally pointless. And it will be the same for all their other games in the next three months at least.

The coaches need to knock some fkin sense into him ASAP, other keepers do it regularly as well but this is our keeper we're on about and it matters to some of us.

I do agree, but the problem is how do you dole out appropriate punishment for what I still say is fraudulent behaviour, without taking down the whole league with them.Whitkirk White wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2026 5:15 pm I might be in a minority but assuming Man City’s appeal isn’t upheld, I think they’ll throw the book at them. Its the old saying about being too big to fail...."If I owe you 10 pounds, I have a problem. If I owe you 10million pounds, you have a problem"
But imo, that's a risk that has to be taken. The scale of this is well beyond a slap on the wrist. But we seem to now live in a world where enough money can buy you innocence.

That would take some recovery mission to achieve Premier League status.Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2026 9:34 pm Yup, that’ll do it.
Along with the EFL refusing to accept the cheating sh1tehawks.
Surely, the authorities can't allow Citeh a sniff of success in the next ten to twenty years.

Somehow the Premier League /FA need to keep Citeh as a viable option, whilst ensuring they are punished. If Citeh are demoted to the Championship there is no where for them to go. Promotion and relegation is based upon a 3 up 3 down scenario and it's unlikely the EFL will suddenly re-write the rules, leaving Citeh without any football. If they impose a serious of penalty points deductions (which seems the more likely) with the chances that the club would not win the Premier League or be involved with Europe for some time, the Abu Dhabi backers could just walk away and leave Citeh close to liquidation. This would impact about 8 other clubs who are owed money for recent transfers, not least Forest who are yet to be fully paid for Elliott Anderson. The whole thing is a minefield!!

Re: Manchester City Thread
That's the too big fail argument. But for the preservation of the football league and genuine footballing institutions, they have to impose these sorts of penalties, let the chips fall and then pick up the pieces with a solid rebuild that benefits all clubs - in other words use this as an opportunity to create positive and meaningful change. If City disappear, well that's tough s**t - you reap what you sow.1972Glory wrote: ↑Wed Oct 14, 2026 9:41 pm Somehow the Premier League /FA need to keep Citeh as a viable option, whilst ensuring they are punished. The regulator estimates that about 20% of PL clubs are technically insolvent - the number for the lower leagues is 3x that. The model is broken - its needs a total rebuild - too late now for Band-Aids.
As to the current owners - they have proven they are not fit to own a football club. If they don't walk, they should be kicked out anyway.
