Nobody mentioned the VAR usage or how it was viewed, not Infantino, not Trump nobody, the red card hasn't been rescinded , it's been suspended for 12 months, so that is an admittance right there. The lifting of the ban is because one man in power made a phone call to another asking them to do it and that's exactly what happened , nothing to do with VAR

A few points. Please correct any that are in error.
1. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. There also has not been a response to my request for the VAR rule process to be considered.
2, My point is that there is indeed a potential mitigating circumstance, not that the red should be rescinded. The incident meets the requirement for being carded red, but the process was at fault. An analogy would be to what happens in a court of law when evidence that should have been inadmissible under the law is used for conviction. The conviction stands but is subject to appeal. That appeal can result in changes to the conviction, including a reduction in sentencing, but not necessarily overturning the outcome.
3. The FIFA disciplinary committee that reviewed the card has upheld it and has unambiguously stated that it was not influenced by any external or political decision, so the presumption that Trump was directly responsible for the change in status seems implausible.
That they invoked Article 27 to "delay" the application of the penalty seems to me to be an appropriate response to the complexities of the situation, and not just the question of the law-based validity of the red.
4. Trump is a serial fabulist. He has this in common with most if not all politicians, but he seems worse than most, and he likes to lay claim to outcomes that are often not his to claim. I'm sure you agree.
I attempt to discern what is real and what is not, but those that suffer from TDS, in my opinion, are less discerning- which begs the question- why believe him now when I would not be surprised if you would not believe him under any other circumstances. Is it that it suits your POV? Again, refer to point 3. He certainly conversed with Infantino, and associates the outcome with that conversation, but is that indeed the case?
So, you prefer to believe Trump and not the Committee?
In any case, it's all moot, but an interesting circumstance, nonetheless.
