I must confess, however, I was completely bamboozled with the rules/requirements, hence my non participation.

Experience suggests that the Comps that tend to get more engagement on the site are those which are simple and require little effort......most people are inherently lazy, and the more effort required the less the participation.

Well done to those who could get their heads around the rules/requirements and did take part though

I prefer a more complex comp, hate guessing games like guess the attendance/score etc. This one though is beyond me, not because of any complexity but because I couldn't name a single cyclist these days and as for teams....

No worries, Cat. It came together last minute on my end. And it sort of assumed a base level understanding of the different categories, etc. which I should have explained better. Hoping to use this as a trial run and improve upon it for future iterations, if there's enough ongoing interest.

I like that idea! And an easy one to implement mid contest without changing anything else.

Per Pullhard's suggestion- slight change to how points will be awarded for the stage selections. Instead of only 10 points for selecting the winner- Points will be awarded as following:

1st- 10 points
2nd- 5 points
3rd- 3 points

Still just selecting a single rider for each stage, but this gives a chance to gain points for 2nd/3rd place stage finishes.

Del Toro and Seixas both had mechanicals in the last 30 mins.
Both back in the peloton with 40km to go.
Seixas is on a team mates bike though

An interesting Stage 2, with some late mechanicals from the young studs Seixas and Del Toro. An early breakaway was managed for the better part of the day, but the Peloton always kept it within checking distance and ultimately closed it down for a GC finish. Tadej just toyed with everyone and in the end, gave the stage win to his main domestique. Pretty cool moment to see Del Toro and Tadej celebrate his first (of many) TDF stage wins. (even if it was handed to him on a platter).

As for our contest- another blank day for the daily stage selections. Though hopefully with the alteration to the scoring one of us will break the seal for tomorrow’s stage!

Looking ahead to Stage 3. We finally get to France, entering the Pyrenees with the first of eight mountain stages.
