Purchased this morning the only Beatles studio album I haven't on CD.

Stopped by the local record shop to see if they had an original pressing of Houses of the Holy and he said I just missed one by a few days But I did pick up a really clean OP of Harvest and a Dr. John album so wasn't a total bust

I've spent plenty of dosh on vinyl in Southwold & Yoxford this week.

I'm particularly pleased with the Jethro Tull album which included it's original inset of newspaper in the inner sleeve

'Thick As A Brick', 'Pilgrimage', 'Split', 'It's Only Rock n Roll' & 'Past Present & Future' were proritised albums I wished to acquire on vinyl, so I'm a happy man.

Spent a few bob on vinyl over the last week.

£20 for a compilation Hawkwind album Roadhawks, features Silver Machine which wasn't released on any of their studio albums. Brillant album featuting songs such as :

Hurry on Sundown
Silver Machine
Urban Guerilla
The Golden Void
and I love.....Wind of Change

Almost a 5 star album for me.

I had the pleasure of seeing Hawkwind as Leeds Uni in the early 70's.

I went to see Hawkwind playing at Derwent College, York Uni with my Leeds supporting mate Dave (who I've had a memorial stone laid for in the new Bielsa section) when we were 15. We were right at the front with our legs under the stage blocks. Hawkwind came on accompanied by two fully naked women who danced through the whole set. Fortunately our tounges didn't get stood on.

They were staying at the Chase Hotel were I'd just started work as an apprentice chef, so cooked their breakfasts the next morning.

God I miss the 1970s!
