Pablo's Castellón FC fight to get in the playoffs goes to the last game with Castellón in 6th (final playoff place).

With the potential to go as high as 3rd with a win or down to 8th.

Some bumps in the 2nd half of the season ended Castellón's unlikely title challenge (they were in the relegation zone when he took over with only 2 points from 5 games)

But over the course of the season Pablo has achieved enough points that on a ppg basis would see them 3rd now and fighting for the title on the last day.

As it is its playoffs.

But a remarkable debut season for Pablo turning around the fortunes of a side that finished last season 17th and were in relegation trouble when he took over.

Hasn't gone unnoticed either as clubs further up the footballing ladder taking notice.

And one that could still end in promotion.

Second leg tonight. at Almeria.

Malaga won 0-1 away to Las Palmas in the first leg of the other semi.

Pablo is a wanted man with his turning around of CD Castellón not going unnoticed.

Despite the playoff failure he took relegation threatened side to playoffs.

This has attracted the attention of La Liga clubs including 8th placed Rayo Vellecano (beaten UEFA Conference League Finalists).

The club has proven a fertile training ground for young Spanish managers (and Bielsa disciples specifically with Inigo Perez and before him Andoni Iraola).
