I already posted this on the General Chat thread but this was a good idea SH.

That’s terrible news, I used to love his stories about Leeds and all the jobs he had. What a character & I’d have loved to have met him for a beer & a chat.

Didn’t know, so thanks for raising this as a separate thread.. What a great old lad he was, lovely storyteller. At one stage he was manager of a carpet shop where I used to wait for my bus home from school. The bus was always late, so I must have seen him. I’ll miss his tales of a time none of us knew, about areas I knew well. Good night Jack, sleep well.. 👍

I thought so too Sean. I can't recall the exact details without looking back but the tale about a Man U fan I think being bashed over the head by someone with a turnip on the end of a stick was so random and so very funny.
