I think we're already safe Weasel, and felt like 38 points would be enough. I just don't see us losing all our last 4 matches and Spurs, who have no wins in 2026, picking up 9 points from 5 matches, which would include beating us. No chance.

We then get it into the real work of being a top EPL club. If we win the Cup we need a squad capable of playing in Europe and the league, and progressing us.

So, the quality and depth of the squad will need major improvement. If we're intending to expand the ground then funds need to be juggled between that and the playing squad and within the framework of PSR.

These are the nice conundrums we face as a part of being successful, but that's perfect for me compared to trailing round Millwall and Cardiff, etc, where we're seen as every club's cup final and our quality players are booted from pillar to post.

As I predicted in one of the polls earlier this week, we don't require any more points. Spurs & I doubt West Ham will make 39 points. 40 is definitely beyond them.

And this is where I disagree with people who say with glistening eyes, Ooh, he's Leeds! He gets us! Blah! Blah! Blah!"

Haaland, KP, etc, yes they are Leeds supporters which is awesome! But, football is their profession and modern day footballers view things from a career perspective "What's good for my career? Where will I get first team football? Where will I get the most money? Where's the nicest place to live for me and my family? Where will I be able to play on the European stage? Which club is going to enhance my international prospects? Whose the coach whose going to treat me the best and use and develop my skills? Where will I win trophies and medals?

All this badge kissing and thumping chests is pure theatre to excite the masses of happy clappers

So, as soon as fans can understand and accept this it gives us the opportunity to view players objectively and without sentiment. It's the nature of football these days, it's a business. We can enjoy footballers while they're here, but should always be looking at what's good for the team and the club in terms of squad improvement, quality of player, performances and results, making profits, PSR, etc.

Haaland was quite a nice kid when he signed for City, but I can clearly see the influence of Guardiola, fame, and the cynical approach to football has overcame his principles. Yes, he's skillful and probably going to be one of the all time great strikers, but he now behaves like a typical modern day top team footballer, arrogant and selfish. That stuff oozes off these guys.

DF has done a great job of grounding them and quashing egos, and he has our squad behaving well and in an old fashioned cohesive team style. This has generated a positive style, culture and identity. Fans of other clubs are clearly admiring and jealous of the culture and team spirit DF has created. As we get better established at EPL level, and the expectations rise, and we win trophies, then better quality players will arrive and that's where DF will have better quality tools to work with, but these days those tools come with a lot of egotistical baggage that is tough to manage, no better example than Chelsea, which is a car crash of a club.

Liam Rosenior was a crazy appointment, but those selfish, egotistical players, have done their utmost to ensure he lost his job asap. It will take a strong, experienced and respected coach to bring that rabble to heel. And with the way that club is mismanaged any coach going in there will know that players and those above them can pull the rug at any given moment. Managing Chelsea is not an enticing prospect, but I'm sure there will be a queue a mile long looking to take the job.

Don't think a 50 year old Daniel would score many for City

Interesting point though.

Longer in the Premier League brings better players but also more ego.

Sending a waffling novice like Rosenior into that Chelsea dressing room was ridiculous.

It will get harder for DF (any any manager) the longer you are in the Prem to control those egos.

We can hope that Bunney turn up not at all bothered and thinking about their close season holidays and where they might be playing their football next season. Maybe, Scott Parker, if he is still around, will blood a few untried and untested players in preparation of next season..................

I dunno? Danny Boy's first touch was immaculate when he controlled that high ball on the sidelines

Maybe the players should give credit to him for any technical skills they show on the pitch?

The other night it seemed like Rosenior went over to the Chesea fans to apologize, but got chased. Cucurella stood there with his Florence off the Magic Roundabout haircut, and mouth open, and Enzo walked towards them and just stood staring at them for 10 minutes, as if to say Ï told you so!"

To be fair i have seen Burnley, albeit in highlights and they were not parking any buses in those games. They were always keen to get on the front foot, but their major problem was they were not great at defending when they do that. I cant see this game finishing 0-0. If we can take the oportunities we will get it should make for an interesting game. It isnt going to be a walk in the park, and Burnley simply gifting us 3 points.
