Re: Leeds Utd v Harrogate Town Match Thread
I do not understand how Bamford could be even considered for any game,
virtually all of the last two seasons he has spent most time injured and when picked to play he has contributed nothing. we have some fine young player on the bench who can and do fit into the style and play of the team.
I has been rumoured for some time that various clubs would like him but that has come to nothing.
, Don't need to wish United luc tomorrow all though they have been beaten by inferior clubs on various occasions. My worst recollection is my brother and I travelled the 600 miles round trip to Torquay, Big John Charles was in his prime. we got beat and we both slunk back away to the Train back to Leeds.

Farke is saying what he has to say about Meslier.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 8:38 pm I'm quite capable of staying awake while it's quiet
If he dumps all over the guy and we can't bring in a first-rate keeper during the window then where are we?
Who knows what Farke is really thinking? Those Germans are inscrutable.

IS it not strange that Bamford manages to "suffer" some injury each time a transfer window comes around - cunning plan to avoid being sold or loaned out I reckon.

Surely, he wouldn't get away with feigning injury at such times!Tom the Cat wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 11:21 am IS it not strange that Bamford manages to "suffer" some injury each time a transfer window comes around - cunning plan to avoid being sold or loaned out I reckon.
£2 million annual salary is a nice little earner for doing next to nothing.

Yes it is strange that a footballer would want to not play and just get paid.
Even stranger for a person to believe it too

John Charles, wow, you must be older than 64’ Jack. Must have been something else to see him play.Volvo Jack wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 8:24 pm I do not understand how Bamford could be even considered for any game,

He could always just say no to a loan move so I doubt he's faking injuriesTom the Cat wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 11:21 am IS it not strange that Bamford manages to "suffer" some injury each time a transfer window comes around - cunning plan to avoid being sold or loaned out I reckon.

Hmm, career’s winding down, made of biscuits, future options would be lower league, less glamorous clubs with agricultural opposition, also burgeoning podcast to manage… or sit with feet up, get a massage, do a bit of training near to home, play with dog/kid and collect stupid amounts of money. No brainer really.

Re: Leeds Utd v Harrogate Town Match Thread
If Leeds stumble against Harrogate, blaming Karl Darlow would be as ridiculous as suggesting that Tubbs had any retail sense.
Even Edward, ever the voice of stern logic, would bellow, "No, Tubbs! This is not his doing!" Darlow is but one man, not some magical savior sent to single-handedly deliver victory. "This is a local match for local people,"
Edward might remind us, the burden of success or failure rests on the entire team, not just the keeper. To scapegoat him would be as foolish as letting a stranger into the Local Shop “Darlow might bring his own ways!”
Should the fans descend into chaos, pointing fingers at poor Darlow, Edward would no doubt thunder, “You’re not to blame him, Tubbs!”
Darlow would demand order, a strong defence, a steadfast midfield, and a supreme attack, reminding us all that Leeds’ missteps are a collective matter.
Darlow is merely doing his duty, like a loyal shopkeeper minding the counter while chaos swirls around him. It’s the team as a whole that must shoulder responsibility.
Edward might grimly warn, “There’ll be no blaming here!”, for that way lies division and doom.
