After the talk about build up from the left this week, it was quite noticeable we went down mainly the right last night.

Great read of the plymouth pass when he intercepted to pass to Kamara for our goal.

How good was Sam Byram at Plymouth?

Playing in his natural RB position, I thought he was superb & a driving force down the right making 4 or 5 decent runs, linking up with Gnonto really well. Defended well with too.

We had no such problems on the right as opposed to the left last night.

Had Gruev just edging him for MOTM, was excellent last night. Thought him and Gnonto had a good understanding down the right side.

Good to see Gnonto & Sam struck up a good partnership, considering they haven't played together on the right this season.

Shame the left side was weak until Summerville came on.

With 31-year-old Sam Byram starting today, this is the latest into a league season Leeds have named a player aged 30+ in their starting XI since the 1952-53 season (13th game).

Seems to have divided opinion Sam yesterday.

I thought he was a real hindering factor inour attacks.

As a right footed left back his instinct was to come inside into areas of no space and inevitably pass backwards.

Farke probably loved it but it was imo a real issue.

But some thought he had a great game I've seen.

What we thinking?

Did ok, defensively better but that wasn't really needed much yesterday and probably not needed much at all. He did break up an attack through the middle as last man well but so did Firpo the week before

Byram is not left footed so the overlap was nowhere near as dangerous as it might have been with Firpo playing, you're not going to see those sweet left footed passes across the face of goal that has yielded Firpo a number of assists over the last two seasons.. I'm going to be much happier with Firpo starting on the left and will be interesting to see if Byram can match Bogle for forward raids next week when he starts for our suspended right wing back.

As we play inverted wingers the wing backs must get up the pitch even at the expense of the defence and getting caught upfield

Good first-half defensively.

Second-half, Soloman & Byram wanted to come inside & also got in each other's way.

That is one combination that didn't work!

Problem is, as soon as Firpo has to defend, it's a guaranteed yellow. Looks ok when teams park the bus, but those who break quickly will find loads of space.

He has 5, Bogle has 5, Ampadu if he were fit would likely be on 5, Rodon is on 4. Yellow card wise Firpo is no worse than most of our defence and he does as much of it as the others.

Process of elimination, take out those that were poor, take out those that would mean to many from one club. Pick from what's left

Sam had a good first-half, but quite a few errors in the second-half, although Soloman didn't help his cause. Byram looked shattered in the last twenty minutes.

I wish I had time & the facilties to watch all the championship games, I suspect my team would be totally different. I watched both Hull games against Burnley & Derby last week.

Cody Drameh (whom I've been critical of in the past) played left-back vs Burnley & he was undoubtably the best player on the pitch.

Also, very impressed with Hull's CB Charlie Hughes who they signed from Wigan in both games.

Watford's Baah had a terrific game against us.

I suspect none of those four were even considered.

Cody Drameh was one of the best full backs in the championship the first two times he went out on loan. Haven't followed him the past two seasons. One of my big disappointments is that Farke hasn't been able to make use of players like that.
