I remember the club ditching it in around '83 or '84 for the Yorkshire rose badge, as the Peacock was said to be an unlucky bird. No idea where they got that from, like the badge stylistically but it brings back memories of relegation and then a spell in division 2 for me and so wierd superstitious bad vibes.

It's all about brand identity.

Yeah the 49ers will revert back to The Peacocks because it is more marketable than 'The Whites'.

I personally don't like The Whites as a name, I think we should go back to the smiley badge but that carries no club nickname so The Peacocks is fine even though Revie thought birds and feathers were unlucky.

The Smiley is fun for 70s kitsch, but lets be honest, it looks like a bellend.
Yeah, thanks for that image, Sara 🙄😁

I never noticed that before, you have now ruined my life.

Are they preparing the way for a new look? The Americans do seem to like animal imagery.

Could be something like this:

Don't like it. Every club seems to have that exact same badge now too.

I'm quite happy with the current badge, but I do like this.

I take it the 'Peacocks' refers back to the old Peacock ground, hence why the pub has the same name?

Makes sense I guess.

Niners going back to tradition.

We were 'The Peacocks' when I first supported Leeds United back in 1964.

Never been a fan of the current badge and Personally I really like the idea of going back to the peacock as long as they don’t do away with the white home kit.

Sorry. Spaghetti.

I studied typography at art college and absolutely loathe these ‘Lacey’ typefaces , they have no place in good design. Football clubs need ‘chunky’ no-no sense typefaces.

The Peacock logo I like, also the name is, as someone said earlier, more acceptable and inclusive these days than The Whites

Yet our badge was an owl. I know the owl is from the city emblem but it still confused me.

That’s yet another argument waiting to happen. Who do you reckon the ‘we’ are who will get to vote?

Common sense says ST holders, maybe those with membership accounts as well, but Leeds are arguably a global club with millions (?) emotionally involved.

I never liked design by committee yet I get your point.

You mean like the Cardiff chairman who unilaterally changed the Bluebird’s shirt colour to red. Now that was funny.

All for the Peacock to be part of our branding and I like seeing it on the shirt
