King Kev and Rob Burrows both been given the freedom of Leeds today, congratulations boys
KS couldn't be at the awards as he had a prior engagement, raising money for charity

As said elsewhere, I’m a Cas RL fan, but have nothing but respect for both of these lads.

Shocking Kev didn’t get the recognition he deserved.

I am yes, lived there for 30 odd years or so before we moved out.

I used to follow Cas all over, I built up a stretch of not missing a game for 11 years home and away including Paris away a couple of times. Football won out eventually, and I’m now on a run of not missing a Leeds home game for 15 years or so. What with family commitments etc, and rugby played at Cas on a Friday, I find it impossible to do both.

Had some fun at Belle Vue over the years 😂😂😂

I think it’s a nothing award anyway. Why would anyone value something from the monarchy. What do they know about real life. I mean Sir Andy Murray. I rest my case

I'm living down in Suffolk now. Born in Wakey, lived in Wakey for 25 years, then 12 years in the middle east working, where I met Mr Swan who is Suffolk born and bred. My folks who are both 92 live in Sandal, who I visit every month and spend a week looking after them.

......ahem! I get enough flack from Orange box about Belle Vue and Wakey Thank you very much!

We usually have a Superleague topic on here running through the season, you will be a great addition :)...I think :duno:

Yeah, the Super League thread was mentioned somewhere, both our clubs are going through tough times so I’m not sure either of us will have much to shout about to be honest, but we will see.

I go over to Cas every now and then to see my dad, in fact I was there yesterday. To say it has gone downhill is an understatement, and it was never the best when I lived there. That’s one hell of a move, Wakefield to Suffolk, although the Middle East in between makes a difference. I only moved out York way.

Yeah perhaps it could come across wrong that, so...

Kevin Sinfield snubbed for a Knighthood = An absolute fcking disgrace, wtf does the guy have to do, and he wasn't doing what he did with that in mind anyway ya dumb people in charge of Knighthood pricks, i bet there's some total prick out there who paid a backhander somewhere to someone somewhere and bought one for doing FCK ALL !

Made me feel better anyway.

I was dragged up in Fryston. You? An ST darnt lane for many years. As I live in Scotland now and no family left in Cas I’m a TV supporter only, but the love for the black and amber never dies.

Dragged up 😂😂😂. I lived on Hugh Street for many years with my parents, then got myself a house on the new ‘Healdfield Estate’ (obviously much better to say the least as you will know).

Like you was an ST holder for god knows how many years, used to be in the Wheldon Road end. As mentioned, the Friday nights has killed it for me, and several others I know, although it does make it good for a couple of beers watching on the tele.

Wheldon rd for me too, used to stand by the ten yard line right hand side (handy for the loos - essential after a beer in the Garden House). Loved my Sunday games best.

You would. Didn’t mind playing Wigan, sometimes we beat them, mostly we didn’t. Hated saints, obviously and never liked Leigh, but Wigan I could cope with. Loved going to the old Central Park, bloody good pies. Don’t like the DW or whatever it’s called. Got a thing for old grounds, apart from Bellevue which is a shambles, eh Swannie if you’re reading this.

I was further back, more central, near the gate the ball boys used to use to collect the ball when it got kicked over the stands.

We used to have a couple in the Garden House, then generally made our way down to the Boot Room for a couple before going over the road. Good days, but as I say Friday nights has killed it for many.
