Ice Tragedy

Post by becchio bear »

Just felt I had to say this. I know it's not football related but then again there are a lot of topics that aren't so...

What an absolute tragedy at Solihull. 4 little boys lost their lives this week. 3 boys go to feed the ducks, all family members 6 & 8 yr old brothers and 11 yr old cousin. Venture onto the ice covered lake, one falls in, they try to rescue him coupled with a completely random heroic 10 year old and all lose their lives. I'm a mum of 3 boys and cannot imagine what these families are going through

:bear:
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

Shocking. I didn’t know those facts BB. A random boy tried to help. Thought they were all together

I know Jay, Jack the 10 year old didn't know the others, he heard their screams and just ran to help and lost his life in the process  :bear:

Oh god. Somehow that seems even worse in a way. That is a brave thing to do. You’ve not got long in water at that temperature. Poor kids. I’d say what the hell were they doing there at that age on their own but we were pretty feral at that age. Surprised we all survived tbh

Absolutely horrendous.
I can't begin to imagine the pain and sorrow the families of those boys must be feeling.

Very das indeed, how many times does this have to happen before people realise walking on frozen rivers lakes etc is dangerous in the UK?

Absolute tragedy for all concerned.
Something like this happens every year, it's all down to education from the parents, unfortunately, you can't be with your kids all the time, kids will be kids, they want to express themselves and be free, they don't see the dangers, a lot of parents don't see the dangers, snow and ice brings fun and games (or should do)
My heart goes out to all concerned.
