Re: The Visual/Music Discussion Thread
True story.
Many years ago I was in my local pub. Rosetta Bar Belfast
They always had metal bands playing upstairs at the time. Late 1980s 1989 I reckon.
The barman suggested we check out the one playing that night. It was a Thursday night which was always quiet.
I wasn't in the mood for forking out £2.50 but the pub was pretty dead so me and my mate Shaun went upstairs.
Thunder.
Never heard of them.
There was about 12 people in there and it was freezing
Their set was what we now know as Back Street Symphony. That guitar intro to Shes so fine and I was hooked They were awesome.
Even though they were performing to one man and his dog they just went for it and so did we. ( fueled by a slap of pints of course)
During the set break I recall telling the bar manager that he just had to get them back. He rebooked them that night.
Four months later and with a TOTP appearance behind them they played to a well over capacity Rosetta again. 3-400 in there it was mayhem. I was lucky to get in.
Then they toured with Heart and played the Kings Hall 7000 crowd.
What a band

I suspect of limited appeal, but I love this track
and, I haven't come across/listened to any other Russian bands (they're from St. Petersburg)

Saw them a couple of times supporting Nirvana when they were Captain America. Good band.
Eugene pops up on a great Scottish indie documentary which is (I think) on Amazon Prime. Mostly about his time in The Vaselines.

Re: The Visual/Music Discussion Thread
I never got to see Nirvana, sadly.
I had tickets to see them in 94, but the gig was postponed when Kurt overdosed in Rome.
About a month after that he committed suicide. ( Or was murdered )

F*ck me you can't get any better than that...... Brilliant appraisal of the bollox we are indoctrinated with. Ironically, i do think the ONE LOVE message is the right thread being used by the wrong people. Trust love above everything else and if you really understand,,,, there's no need for drama.
