Didn't Nathan Jones leave Luton to go to Stoke a 2 or 3 years ago. Having done really well with Luton he bombed in The Potteries. Ended up going back to Luton, where he's doing well again and could again be off......grass isn't always greener, Nathan
Indeed Cat.
He was awful at Stoke, 15.8% win percentage which would be very hard to find worse.
Just wonder if he sees Southampton as a chance to prove himself?
Southampton don't demand much, survive in the Prem at somewhere in the 15-11th range and develop players to sell.
Don't think saints fans will be skipping with joy at this appointment. Out of his depth in PL I think. Good for us though as I think he'll take Southampton down.
I think they paid around £2m in compo. He's got a 4 year deal so maybe they have factored it the big R? I don't think they will do a Watford if it doesn't improve instantly.

Nathan Jones with 4 defeats in 5 . . . .
Seemed a very strange choice to me. Done well at Luton but failed at Stoke - also worth noting that Luton went on to win promotion after he left in the January of that season so you wonder whether Luton were a decent side and he got lucky to be there at the right time (the fact they achieved back to back promotions also suggests that their first promotion, under Jones, was a case of the team being far too good for that division - although they only finished 2nd).
I love leeds united, may Inever admit to it.

I thought Jones got lucky getting a second chance at Luton after he blew them out for Stoke, doubt they’ll be giving him a third chance when he fails at Southampton but nothing surprises me in football any longer.
