Not so sure.

It won't happen now (although I suspect Marsch won't last to long) but I can fully see them going for some foreign highly rated choice.

I don't think Orta would be allowed another domestic appointment after Hecky.

Indeed Cat.

He was awful at Stoke, 15.8% win percentage which would be very hard to find worse.

Just wonder if he sees Southampton as a chance to prove himself?

Southampton don't demand much, survive in the Prem at somewhere in the 15-11th range and develop players to sell.

The romantic in me would love Jackson to take over after Marsch  Assisted by Rene Maric and James Milner :-D

Only one victory in their last nine matches, easy to see why the Saints board reacted.

Personally, I thought Hasenhutti was doing a decent job :-D

Don't think saints fans will be skipping with joy at this appointment. Out of his depth in PL I think. Good for us though as I think he'll take Southampton down.

I bet the Luton supporters are fuming with him.

Second time he's done this to them.

I think they paid around £2m in compo. He's got a 4 year deal so maybe they have factored it the big R? I don't think they will do a Watford if it doesn't improve instantly.

One victory in their last ten games for the Saints, a narrow 0-1 victory at their neighbours Bournemouth.

Nathan Jones with 4 defeats in 5 . . . .

Anyhow.

Southampton are close to announcing the signing of Croatian International attacker Mislav Oršić.

29 years old.

Winger mainly occasionally an attacking midfielder.

Scored at the World Cup.

Legendary figure at Dinamo Zagreb.

Fee of around £6mil

Some absolute cracking finishes in here tbf

Oh hadn't seen this either.

Southampton are also in talks with Villarreal over a loan with an option to buy for Attacking Midfielder 21 year old Nicolas Jackson.

Seemed a very strange choice to me. Done well at Luton but failed at Stoke - also worth noting that Luton went on to win promotion after he left in the January of that season so you wonder whether Luton were a decent side and he got lucky to be there at the right time (the fact they achieved back to back promotions also suggests that their first promotion, under Jones, was a case of the team being far too good for that division - although they only finished 2nd).
I love leeds united, may I never admit to it. :shhh:

I thought Jones got lucky getting a second chance at Luton after he blew them out for Stoke, doubt they’ll be giving him a third chance when he fails at Southampton but nothing surprises me in football any longer.

Deal done

Southampton have signed Croatia winger Mislav Orsic from Dinamo Zagreb for £8m on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

The 30-year-old scored 91 goals in 216 games for the Croatian side, and arrives for a reported £8m fee.

He helped Croatia to third place in the 2022 World Cup, playing six games and scoring the winner against Morocco.

Could be very smart signing from the Saints
