We achieved 47 points last season, I always insisted we would acquire at least 45 points, we bettered that total

With a stronger squad, I can visualise us gaining ten points on top of that 47, giving us 57 points

Bournemouth finished 6th on 57 points last season
Sunderland finished 7th on 54 points last season

So I'm going for a lofty 7th position

This will sound weird but I’m hoping we finish just outside the European places to give us another season to improve our squad, the likes of Palace, Forest & Spuds struggled to combine European & Premiership games last season.
Chances are that UEFA will soon have a European spot for every team in the Prem though.

I hate predicting Leeds, just superstitious I guess.

I'm hoping for around 55 points, expecting less, would not be surprised if we got more.

I think, atm, Hull and Coventry haven't done enough, both have zero recent prem experience. Ipswich might escape which, for me, drags in Palace, Fulham, Newcastle, Brentford or us as candidates as the 18th placed team..

New GK (Darlow was fine anyway) + Wilson are the only real changes. What would suggest we'll do significantly better than last season? I didn't go for 17th by the way...

I think we'll massively struggle again this year but will be ok. We still lack a lot of creativity/strength up top - relying on DCL alone for another season is risky

Comparing this year's team to last year's is valid, but the apt comparison is this year's team to last year's team from January onward, and this year's team is better than that.

I hope.

That being said, I'll be happy with anything 17th or above.

The optimist in me wants to believe that we could have a crack at the top half, but the realist in me knows that simply staying in this league for another year is the aim. Maximum effort from the lads every game is all I ask for really.

I am one that indicated 9th position. It's going to be a tough season don't get me wrong but I think we can better the 47 points of last season as I believe the squad will have gained from the experience of last season and we have imported a bit of better quality into the squad.

If Brentford & Brighton collected 53 points last season and finished 8th & 9th I reckon we can achieve that - that'swhat I'm hoping
