I have some very sad news to report. Jesse Marsch saw this photo and suffered a brain haemorrhage.

Kieffer Moore has been an excellent loan signing for Ipswich: 17 matches = 7 goals.

Patrick Bamford: 33 matches = 8 goals.

January signings

Screenshot 2024-05-01 08.18.24.png

Moore, Sarimento & Al-Hamadi scored 15 goals since January

Leeds signed Connor Roberts who didn't feature much, only playing 90 minutes vs Stoke & Chelsea (cup) scoring one goal

Also, Ipswich sent out 5 players, bringing 4 in.

Leeds released 7 players with just one incoming signing.

Effective recruitment from the Tractor boys.

Even I knew we didn't do enough in the January transfer window. You only have to see us wasting bench places to know that. Irrespective of division this must be Paddy's last season as our starting CF. Injury prone, easily the most inconsistent player we have, he's lived a charmed life at ER under a number of managers

Happy for him to come off the bench though

Plenty of recruitment required in the summer irrespective of what league we are in next season.

We need quality players that specialise in basic skills.

Players have a very big say of who they play for, he just needs to ask for a transfer to a bigger club

As a matter of interest, when do people think that we last signed a really decent no 9 at the club ?

Personally speaking, I wouldn't classify Bamford as a really decent no 9, due to his inconsistent form, his lengthy goal droughts, his fragile confidence, plus him being very injury prone over the years with us.

So who would you say was the last really top notch no 9 that this club signed ?

Some would say Viduka or Hasselbaink.

Top-notch for me would be Yeboah. 8-)

At League One/championship level --- Jermaine Beckford, although he never played for Leeds in the championship.

Sarmiento is a good player, I'm amazed he is only on the bench for Ipswich most weeks. But he's only on loan so will be back with Brighton in the summer.

Moore & Sarmiento would have been great for us Chilli, however we more or less turned a blind eye on the January window, nothing unusual there!

It is needed indeed and something that Farke didn't get this summer due to circumstance that were not of his control. I am sure he would have liked to have brought players in early but we were hamstrung by not knowing who was staying, who was leaving and how much money we had. By the time things became clearer we were in the position of trying to get the best of what was available. That is why for all the supposed riches of talent that Farke has it has been a case of him having to try to fit all the pieces together and make it so that the picture makes some sort of sense. I would say the tactics and formation have had to be moulded to what he had rather than him being able to fit the players perfectly into a formation and tactics that he'd want to play. If we don't go up then hopefully the players leaving will go quickly and Farke can bring in the players that he wants rather than just snapping up the best of what was available.

Probably Chris Wood as a straightforward 9. Roofe was more of a winger or play of the big guy striker. Pierre-Michel Lasogga
(the german fella on loan) maybe could be classed as a straightforward 9 too.

maybe even JKA....

Totally agree

We're going up as champions next season. :-D

In Peking I visited the temple of heaven and it had three sets of 9 steps leading up to it. The number 9 was always the number associated with the Emperor and he had 9 dragons on his robes signifying power.

In Cantonese, the number 9 is also a vulgar way of saying penis (𨳊, Cantonese Yale: gāu), similar to 7 as well, with 9 referring to an erect penis instead.

Subliminally we want a powerful erect penis that can penetrate.

I find that so patriarchal I think i will report it to the thought police

Agree with that Chapel

Paddy can go on a buy one, Meslier, and get two free deal, Paddy and Cooper = cya

Chris Wood is the last decent striker we've had.

Just for comparison: Appearances/Goals Scored:

Patrick Bamford 175/56
Chris Wood 83/41
Jermaine Beckford: 126/71
Lucciano Becchio: 190/76
Mark Viduka: 130/59
JFH: 69/34
Lee Chapman 137/62
Joe Jordan: 170/35 = the only striker on this list that makes Paddy's stats look better
Allan Clarke: 273/110

Not a good read for Bamford lovers :) ;-)
