Rutter, Summerville, and Struijk were all a joy to watch today.
While I think Summerville was MOTM, I had the most fun watching Rutter. He was a man among boys. When he got the ball in the midfield, it was beautiful the way he created space for himself in which to operate. His passing was brilliant. He's too big and strong for smaller players, too fast for bigger players, and has incredible vision. Beginning to think thirty-six million might have been a bargain.

Missed the match, looking forward to the replay. I have to say the highlights and reading through this thread is great though. How did Archie do second half compared to the first? And what were the tactical changes other than subs, if any, in the second half?

He still needs to add goals to justify the price tag, but I’ve mentioned several times, that price tag isn’t his fault and , hopefully, the goals will come.

Yup, I made an incorrect assumption that he would go like for like. Instead he completely changed the set up.GreennWhite wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2023 6:41 pm You must have missed Pauls post when he said hopefully they take of Summerville

Meslier was beaten at the near post twice today: maybe something the gk coaches need to pick up on...

Extended highlights

He had no chance with either, far too much pace - all you can do is make yourself as big as possible and hope the ball hits you. The first goal was poor defending allowing essentially a free header. The 2nd was again poor defending but I give a lot of credit to guy who scored - very good technique and quick feet.Victor_Notts-17 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2023 9:33 pm Meslier was beaten at the near post twice today: maybe something the gk coaches need to pick up on...
Meslier played well today his positioning for one clearance had to be perfect when they were through on goal.

I’m slightly surprised at you Cjay.
To me, there is no doubt that he has barely put a foot wrong so far, in very testing circumstances. He initially assessed the situation, seemingly allowed those who he wasn’t bothered about, to leave, (possibly had no option) but did everything in his power to retain those he really wanted to keep - Gnonto, Summerville, Rutter etc. I’m sure he’s had more than a hand in bringing in the likes of Ampadu, Rodon, Kamara etc.
We got off to a stuttering start, unsurprisingly, and the likes of Leicester and Ipswich, who didn’t have anything like the disruption we have had, stole a bit of a March. But there is no doubt that, already with wins away at Ipswich and now at Norwich and 3rd in the league, we are on the right track.
Personally, on the strength of what I’ve seen so far (except at Southampton), I’m not ruling out automatic promotion, and under the circumstances that would be exceptional. And, if that comes to pass, a lot of that will be down to Farke.

Well this must've been one of the best if you didn't know the result.Aussieleeds wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2023 8:44 pm Love waking up on a Sunday morning in Australia and reading the match thread from start to finish.
Not dependent on Google, the www or 'stats' - Just a guy that puts his eyes to full use on the beautiful game

If I'm not mistaken, Sub, only Leicester have come away from Carrow Rd. with all three points this season. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2023 4:12 pm Lets not forget Norwich are one of the divisions best home teams...
