Luciano Becchio
Born in Cordoba, Argentina but of Italian descent Luciano Becchio started his career at Boca Juniors in Buenos Aires but never played for the first team. In 2003 he moved to Spain joining La Liga side Mallorca. During his time in Spain he also spent time at Ciudad de Murcia, Terrassa, Barcelona B and M???rida racking up 129 appearances and scoring 38 goals. Becchio was recommended to Leeds United Director of Football Gwyn Williams and joined the club after a successful trial during a pre-season tour of Ireland in 2018. Becchio was an instrumental part of the League One promotion side leading the attack alongside Jermaine Beckford. After Beckford departed Becchio emerged from his shadow and ended up with over 80 goals in over 200 appearances before joining Norwich in 2013.
Jermaine Beckford
Dropped by Chelsea at a young age he became a car windscreen fitter and played for non-league Wealdstone where he scored 54 goals in 82 appearances. His impressive record attracted attention from over 30 league sides before signing for Leeds United in March 2006. Beckford initially had limited opportunities at Leeds with loan spells at Carlisle and Scunthorpe finally becoming a first team regular in the 2007-2008 season. Beckford went on to score 72 league goals in the next three seasons helping Leeds to get promoted from League One in the process. Perhaps he will most famously be remembered for his goal in the FA Cup victory over Manchester on 3rd January 2010. Following the end of the 2009-2010 season Leeds cancelled Beckford's contract a month early to enable him to join Everton.
