I'm not a big football fan, but I always want Leeds to do well.

Well done Jesse, so pleased for him.

Deserves more praise than he receives for what he has achieved in his short-time at Leeds.

That I agree with, not seeing many weaknesses atm though. Midfield looks as good as Bielsa's at it's best, I like the CB depth, hopefully we stay injury free for the most part this season.. 3 good enough strikers, which is riches among the bottom 14. We have creativity and pace in midfield...

We do have weaknesses if fans want a top 4 side I agree but that's a bit like me wanting a Ferrari.. A pipe dream atm.

I'm probably the only one who enjoyed last season apart from the MB decision.

As an American, I am indeed amused.

All kidding aside I sometimes wonder if Europeans believe we've sat around for the last 50 years thinking that we could simply figure this game out over a beer or two.

Truth be told, the game is massive here in the States and growing at an unbelievably fast rate. If you take a look at American footballers playing in top leagues now, I think you'd realize that the state of the game here is excellent and only improving. Aaronson is a wonderful example. He's not some diamond in the rough, but rather an excellent player who, were he Dutch or English or German, would likely already be a household name in the Premier League. As for Jesse, he was an excellent footballer and is a very good manager. Ultimately, all coaches at that level eventually find themselves looking for new work, and he'll be no exception. That said, his American roots ought not be that on which he's judged but, rather, on his results.

True. I even heard the commentator sau Wolves had a very young bench. But said nothing of ours. Probably a reflection of which manager was whining pre match and which one wasn't.

There's a lot of ignorance to Americans over here. The thing is, you pretty much dominate every sport, so why wouldn't you become a top footballing nation with the money and facilities you have behind it? It's only a matter of time imo.

Last season I always felt we could pull something out of the bag, even in the worst games. That expectation vanished overnight, and I haven't had my optimism restored yet.

Thoughts on Marsch ball after first game. It's very high energy. I think Roca and Rodrigo got subbed because they were knackered.

That obviously ties into why Marsch likes to rotate players. I'm sure tactics will be more high energy now given the 5 subs rule.
