Wether or is 63 or 45 is irrelevant if we don't get paid.

Expect to be waiting a long long time on this

well...unless barca go bankrupt and basically extinct then they will be paying the agreed transfer fees and so I would not be overly concerned by them paying in instalments which is pretty standard these days

Teams pay in installments if they cannot afford to buy outright! Alarm bells for me. Chelsea would pay out-right = no brainer! Sod what the player wants: in the old days it was: we've accepted an offer from such-and-such for you... thankyou and goodnight vienna! That said, so long as they are paying the asking price and they are contractually made to pay as-and-when, that will do. This has dragged on far too long...

Glad he's not gone to another prem team but still, this feels like we've been shafted selling him to that bunch. Something fishy about the deal. One minute they have no money and can only offer 40mill max and that's even a stretch for them all things considered, 2 days later they can pay nearly the full amount?

I'm also reading that there is very serious concern about Barca's ability to survive and the level of their financial jiggerypokery makes Peter Ridsdale seem as successful as Warren Buffet.

But if the worst was to happen and we're owed significant money for Raphinha, I read we would never see it again (apart from something like 2% of his value), and we still wouldn't get Raphinha back. Not sure how correct that is as that side of football business and Administration/bankruptcy I have very little knowledge on.
It's simple really. In that scenario the club would go into receivership and the receiver would establish a list of creditors. After all the assets are sold off then the funds would be distributed amongst the creditors. Over here if the tax authorities are owed money, then they will have priority over all the other creditors - it's probably the same over there. How much the creditors get depends on what the club's assets are worth when the receiver sells them off. If any loans are secured on physical assets then they will take priority as well over unsecured loans.

Wonder if Raph knows he is taking a huge risk?

Take the mystique of playing for Barcelona of years gone by away.and you have this current club who are in financial catastrophe.

Unable to register players.

Not paying old players.

Mortgaging it's future to pay for now to try and keep the impression that nothing has changed.

It's a total mess

But it's still more appealing to Raph than Leeds or Chelscum . They have been a mess for years , Real Madrid the same , it's why those two more than any wanted that European super League , in which they would never be relegated .It might have been worth more , but they then adjust their budget to suit that and they still end up in the same mess . It's arrogance by them in that they seem to think they don't have to abide by any financial restrictions .

I don't confess to know all the in's and out's of foreign football legalities, but, it appears that the top clubs in their respective countries get away with much more than lesser clubs do.
The big 6 in England, B/Munich, Madrid & Barca, PSG , Juve, all self important and unafraid, or certainly unaffected , by the rules & Regs.
Lets not forget, when we went bust, we were allowed to go bust, the banks wanted our money back at all costs to LUFC, Liverpool were the next to fold except, the banks held back, why ? National institution apparently, no wonder we sing "WAHLS"
Is the same thing happening in Spain !! Looks like it, otherwise, how can a team €1.56 BILLION, not million, but Billion in debt still be allowed to function !!

Raphinha told Marsch that he no longer wanted to play for Leeds the moment he came back to training: fair enough... http://sportwitness.co.uk/everything-im ... b-anymore/

How very noble of him, don't think I believe the words (verbatim) but nethertheless he's only wanted to go to one other club, just like phillips, both could have gone for higher fees elsewhere, loyalty my hairy arse.
My wish is we get nearer the £70 million mark and barcelona go bust in 12 months.

I heard they had sold TV rights for around £230m minimum a few weeks ago. Makes you wonder if its all dependent on the De Jong Transfer. Barca are linked with some big players again so they must have money coming in.

If that is true then that is less than £60mil.

Sigh

Barely getting 1 Jack Grealish for Raphinha and Phillips is awful business.

Anything below £120mil the pair is poor business.

Raph is a £70mil player all day and KP should have gone for about £50mil

If that is accurate then we are at about £105-£108mil.

Not great in this day and age.

Lufc have been crap at selling players for what they're worth as far back as I can remember. It wouldn't surprise me if Rapha went for 50mil + a Barcelona cleaner. He's done well for us but the sooner he's out the door the better. Players & agents dictate nowadays. How times have changed.

Strange way to look at it. You could also say ,only getting a Grealish for( Raph & Kalvin) is bad business
