Defensively he is awful.

He really is.

He had a reputation in Spain for being a poor defender and he has done nothing during his time here to disprove that.

A defender signed not because he was a good defender but because he ran a lot.

That imo is a fundamental flaw in our recruitment.

To be honest that was Alioski's main strength. Must admit I would have preferred Alioski to have stayed and kept the position and we'd used the money elsewhere. Firpo at times looks like he is getting better, but that is only getting better not proving himself to be the sort of player you'd expect given Barca signed him.

He’s a f**king lazy ba***rd always on a yellow card and labours back after attacking. Alioski was dodgy at first at leftback but grew into the role, always first back after the press broke down. Chipped in a few goals and assists too.

Yes and Alisoki left Leeds of his own accord. For money.
First back to rugby tackle the oppo.

Rose tinted glasses.

Firpo needs a run, if you were patient with Ali then why not Firpo?
Marsch OUT

Football has undergone a process of bielsification; pressing and possessing, passing rather than dribbling, intercepting high up the field rather than making last-ditch tackles, are in vogue.

He’s lazy. Never in the right position doesn’t make an effort to get back in his own half. Harrison’s the same he let Docherty waltz through. Teams target our left flank because it’s weak.

Difference between Firpo and Alioski is that Alioski was converted to a left back- that's why people were more patient.
Firpo is supposed to be a seasoned experienced LB who basically at times looks like he's never played there in his life.
Don't think the man to man system was helping him though so I expect a big improvement under the new coach.

Not Rubbish but true
Was at fault for their second goal Kulusevski was facing the corner flag and managed to score within 5 seconds. No way should he have let him get by so easily.
Struggled all afternoon with him.

Doherty had Harrison on toast all afternoon resulting in Harrison being ineffective going forward.

We look really weak down that left side ATM.

Hopefully the likes of Llorente, Stuijk & Firpo wont go wandering off into no man's land in the future

Where were Dallas, Raphinha, Firpo & Harrison for Spurs first goal?

Their second goal was just as bad, Kulusevski was hemmed in on the corner flag, between Firpo & Llorente they allowed him to waltz into our box with ease & not make any effort to block his shot.....game over!

We defended more efficiently in the championship with defenders that cost us next to nothing,

He did struggle with him but branding him as a f**king lazy ba***rd is rubbish on many levels.

Probably because they were facing the likes of Jordan Hugill and Jed Wallace!

True, we saw some calamities in the championship, for a purist fan who enjoys clean sheets, that 4-5 victory at Birmingham still riles me!

Defensively, we are worse now, clueless comes to mind.

In a rather odd turn of events, Junior Firpo is live streaming his wedding on his Instagram.

Rather amusingly the comments are just full of people doing 1 of 2 things.

1) Telling him to not get booked.

2) Pleading with Raphinha who is watching to stay.

Interesting that we've been linked with several players in several positions. I haven't heard any serious mention of a left back. Looks to me like they're invested in Fripo for another year. Would be really surprised if we didn't at least buy a young left back as there's no natural replacement.
